Mandi trembled.

She was standing in one of the studio rooms at a private photographer's home, in the mountains of western North Carolina, surveying the scene before her.

There was a small stage in front of her, and in the middle of the stage was a pole – every stripper scene in every stripper movie she's ever seen includes a dance up and down on a smooth, metal pole. Behind the pole was a plain background. At the other end of the room were two video cameras, one shooting straight-onto the scene, the other from the side, along with a couple of tripods with still-cameras mounted on them, for shots from different angles, she assumed. A woman – her name was Bobbi (though that was a stage name, not her real-life name) – was adjusting the cameras, taking a peek through each one.

Mandi shivered constantly now, even though she held a thick, heavy robe pulled tightly around her.
