Chapter 1

How can all this happen to a simple girl with a single mother? How can this teen girl be so strong? How did she win all her battles so young? Her name is Crystal Thomas, she is 14 years old. Crystal always been a happy girl even after a specific incident that occurred in her life, it did not damage her it made her wiser and stronger. Crystal and her mom just moved to Georgia after her parents got divorced. Everything was going great. Crystal was doing good in school, Crystal had good grades, her mom was barely home due to her job so she had to do her homework on her own which she was alright with she understood, her mom was a part time nurse so she worked mostly afternoons. Crystal made many friends at school she didn’t have any problems she was very happy. One night as Crystal was getting ready for bed she found a book her father gave her when she as a kid before her parents got divorced. It was a book called "where the wild things are at" it was her favorite book as a kid, her father used to read this to her every night when she couldn’t sleep. All of a sudden all these memories came to her, it hit her like a bomb. She couldn’t help but cry, she didn’t cry because she missed him. She cried because she was disgusted of the man he has become and how he had messed things up for their family. That night as Crystal was sleeping she had a dream. In her dream she was all alone in her room, she was very confused. As she started to walk towards the door to leave, a tall figured stopped her. It was her father. She was very stunned and didn’t know what to do. Her father kept telling her it was all going to be ok and that he is very sorry for everything. Soon after he said those words she woke up, she couldn’t go back to sleep she stayed up all night trying to figure out what did her dream mean? And why all of a sudden is she thinking of her father.
