The opinions described there are my own and I do not see them as influences or that you agree. I would see it much more as a stimulus for discussion. It may well be that the whole thing sounds radical, but we also live in a turning point in time where a certain flexibility is required.

Far be it from me to attack anyone here or to judge anyone. Rather, it is my view of things, as I interpret it below. It may well be that one or the other thinks that would be a radical view of things. But sometimes it seems to me that you stick your head in the sand. Don't react, it will resolve itself. I believe this thread runs through the whole writing. As I said, this is not patronizing anyone, but my opinion on various things at home and abroad.

It's true that such conversations can't really make a difference, because if a person is convinced of their words and actions, it's difficult to counteract them. In the meantime, other state leaders have also had to experience this by paying their respects to him. Nothing has moved as a result. But what is the alternative? To let him continue to work like this and to have to watch that everything gets destroyed as well as a lot of people get killed. The word of diplomacy should be used in any case, but I think a phone call with him should be enough, because he exploits visits in a way that is appropriate for the media and that can't be in our interest either. If our opposition then has something to oppose, I wonder where their proposals for crisis management are. It is clear that there are certainly enough problems in Austria that could be solved, but on the one hand this war affects us all in Europe and on the other hand it is less time-consuming to telephone such a despot than to give him a platform a request visit.
If I have to learn from the media that we have one of the highest party funding in Austria, I do ask myself why there are always obscure constellations where one can assume that these sums are channeled to the respective party. However, this does not only apply to one “color”; it seems to have become much more common practice to deal with taxes in this way. Of course, if I stay with the example of the senior citizens' associations, all of this costs a lot. But in return you have to get subsidies that don't end up with the pensioner. I think that something is being overlooked, because these are taxes that every citizen has to pay and not money without a label. Citizens fight their way through life from day to day, having to think about how they can finance their existence, and politicians only deal with millions that come from these citizens.
The VFGH has overturned the headscarf ban for children from the age of 3 years. You can stand by it however you want, but there are a number of consequences. If I only look at the movements to the left or to the right, I can already imagine that such decisions fuel the tendencies to do so. Above all, what is the next step, perhaps a burqa for all Muslim women or a burkini in bathrooms, as was already being considered in France. I do think that this should be reconsidered, because ultimately these people came to Europe and they should also adapt to the circumstances in our countries. But that doesn't mean that I want to limit their faith, because I don't allow anything to be dictated to me in my faith. But there is one thing I don't understand in this context when I see states that have Islam as their state religion and insist on loosening the veil. I just want to cite one example, that is Afghanistan, where women take to the streets to demonstrate against the burqa and veils, and in our part of the world people want to reintroduce such things.
How vulnerable is the European Union to blackmail when I look at the objections from Hungary and its representatives? I can still understand that the oil embargo was only approved when our neighboring country had also wrested some exceptions from the EU. It would not have been any different for us with regard to gas deliveries. But when the argument for lifting an embargo on the supreme leader of the Russian Orthodox Church is raised in meetings, I wonder how the Union could agree to that. In Hungary there is only a minority that professes to be orthodox and I also wonder how a top representative of a church comes to an immeasurable fortune. It's true that not everyone in the history of Christianity was poor either, but when I then have to hear and see that this high clergyman approves of aggressive wars against a neighboring state, where is the separation between church and state, as it is in our country is handled.
A few weeks ago, the government laboriously agreed on a CO2 tax, and now it will be postponed by three months. But what about in October. I am almost certain that there will be another reason to postpone it further and what about climate protection then? It's true, it would increase the price of gas by about 10 cents, but what is this amount considering the climate damage that we have with it. Now, however, fuels have increased by a good half in the last few weeks, only that the public does not accept that a tax on the climate is being paid.
Since I am a trained businessman, I do not understand how a semi-public company can conclude a contract that lasts for years and decades. This means that if the aggressor decides to turn off the gas tap, we still have to continue paying, even if we don't get any more gas. It's true that we can sit back and relax if we have long-term contracts, but the price is also dictated by the supplier and I don't think that's necessarily commercial. In the private sector there is the two-eye principle, where contracts are approved with two signatures. In addition, there are also limits where such documents must be presented to the board of directors for approval. Had actually assumed that this would also apply to state-owned companies, after all, it's not about millions, but about billions. The citizens are then allowed to pay for it with excessive prices, the managers will hardly be held responsible for this.
I do believe that there should be a few things associated with obtaining citizenship. An opera singer is granted Austrian citizenship within a very short time. When this woman is then asked for an interview, she speaks English and not German. Do you lack the appropriate language skills? Everyone else must present at least one of the specified certificates before being awarded and you also have to wait at least 6 years for this document before you are an Austrian citizen. Apparently, it's easier for some if you have a good name. It is only said about this person that he only half-heartedly distanced himself from the current aggressor, which other states have taken into account with regard to his appearances.
For a long time, we had a discussion about car traffic and bicycle lanes. It's clear that you want to ban cars from the city as much as possible and want to expand the cycle paths. Is it really well thought out? It is already possible to cycle against the one-way path, at least if it is marked accordingly. But do the cyclists also stick to it? It is already a challenge for the driver of a motor vehicle when such a driver comes towards him in a one-way street. What is also ignored is that narrowing the streets, precisely because a cycle path has been created there, also increases the exhaust fumes of the car when it can no longer drive smoothly. But now Vienna has an excellent public transport network that is the envy of other cities, but where is the advertising for it? People prefer to discuss how to paint zebra crossings and cycle paths. That's not to say that I have anything against bike paths, because the movement I do with them is certainly healthier than being stuck in a traffic jam with your vehicle. In my opinion, an additional problem is also developing, which is called e-scooters. They remain where they are no longer needed and thus lead to unnecessary dangers.
