silent desires

i'd like to get to know you,

with that pretty face you possess.

is it really true?

could we be each other's happiness?

you notice me and start walking in my direction,

my knees are getting weak as i think of a greeting.

what if all i can get is rejection,

to my warm heart's seeking?

the steps are getting louder as i remain silent, my hands shake nervously as you smile at me. i finally encourage myself to say something, a quiet hello is on its way to flow to you, the second i realize this was a dumb thing.

you walk past me with a weird look and hug another girl, like i've never been held before.

now I am standing here,

red like a tomato,

embarrassed to the core.

caring up high

you can't complain,

because you're the one to drain,

your emotions down the stairs,

sitting on the highest chairs.

you wear your nose too high,

don't notice as life goes by.

you and your noble air,

but fairness, please at least try to share.

in the quiet moments of self-reflection,

consider the impact of your connection.

open your heart, let empathy bloom,

break free from that high-chair gloom.

time flies by

she whispered low, 'without me, you'll mend,' she left, and time flowed without end.

seconds, minutes, hours, and days, weeks, months, years in countless ways. when will his heart find release from pain? when will peace in his soul finally reign?

seconds, minutes, hours, and days,

weeks, months, years, in countless arrays.

it remains a mystery, a distant dream,

it'll never get better, or so it may seem.

rainy regret

no, i'm not mad at you today,

for a flower won't just wilt away,

with only one rainy day.

but if it's raining too often,

her leaves may soften,

enthusiasm will harden,

in the pretty garden.

if the rain won't ever stop,

grab a mop,

clean up the mess you've made,

from continuing your own mistakes.

pick up rose petals,
