Tip: For Cricut Access users, most of the designs are available, or you can buy them as you go. There are a couple of designs;

however, free to cut depending on the PC you have. Scroll to the menu at the bottom of the categories and pick the PC you own.
Images
If you set them together with your own designs, images are perfect; you can add an additional touch and personality to your crafts with them.
Keywords, types, or cartridges are often scanned
Cartridges are a group of images you would like to shop for separately; some come with Cricut Access, and a few don't.
(Brands include Disney, Sesame Street, Hello Kitty, etc.) Cricut has FREE pictures to cut every week. When you click on Classes, you will find them.
Text
You will have to click on Text whenever you want to type in the Canvas area; then, a little window that says Add Text here will open on the canvas.
Shapes
It is important to be able to use shapes! You can create simple and lesser complex projects with them, and (also) beautiful ones. You can choose between nine shapes:
Square
Star
Heart
Triangle
Pentagon
Octagon
Hexagon
The final option isn't a shape but a tremendous and effective tool called the Score Line. You can create folds with this feature and store your materials.
Your friend can be the Score Line if you want to create boxes or love everything about making cards!
Upload
You can upload your photos and files with this tool. They are loaded with the internet; there are many bloggers doing free projects. I'm one of them.
Canvas Configuration
Here you can adapt the workspace to your comfort since you can select the type of grid (guidelines at the bottom of the planning area) and mark what type of measurement you prefer to use (Centimeters or Inches).
To select these settings, attend the tools menu and choose settings.

Text Tool
The tools in the text panel have activated the instant you decide to incorporate text in the design. It is on the left panel, and every one of its functions will appear at the top.
There you will find the font type, size, space between letters or lines, alignment, curve, and advanced functions. It is important to notice that there are Cricut fonts that are paid, but if you have a membership, you can use them at no additional cost.
However, if you are not paying, you will use all the fonts that you have in your computing system or load them on your tablet or smartphone.
Multilayer Fonts
In the font tool, you will find fonts with the characteristic of being multilayer; this means that they need 2 or more layers forming them, and with these, you can create interesting designs, including the famous cake toppers. With the following pointers, you can make a basic Cake Topper using the Cricut font "A Frightful Affair."
Typefaces to write down and their configuration
While it is true that each font is often used for writing (you just need to select the “draw " setting), there are some that have this function as the only way to use it.
Be careful: all fonts, even if they are paid, are enabled on the canvas, and you can design with them; the block to use them is when they are produced on the plotter.
Score or tap
The famous scoring is with this tool that defines where the plotter will make the fold marks on the dies of boxes, cards, etc.
There are two ways to get this tool:
Find the marking line option in the shapes menu and place it where it is needed.
Configure the utilization in any figure by selecting the layer and marking “score” within the "linetype"
function found in the upper panel.

Attach vs. Group
These two tools are similar, but they add alternative ways, let me explain: when you group, you will move in the planning panel easily, but when producing, it separates all the elements.
However, once you attach you inform the plotter that those pieces should be produced exactly because it is in the design panel.

Stock images in Cricut
Cricut has a wide variety of vector images available; a number of them are free, others are available through membership.
Otherwise, you can just buy whatever you want.
Projects ready!
Do you know that Cricut has several ready-to-produce designs available to you?
You can access them with the membership that provides you access to most of them, or just by buying each project individually; once you purchase them, they become a part of your gallery to produce them as repeatedly as you want.
Plus, each cutting plotter comes with its own FREE project kit.
You can access them by searching within the categories for the model of the machine you have.
Templates
This tool is super useful when you are going to work with iron-on. For example: with the sizes of the t-shirts, you can optimize the size you want to put in the design.
Important: Before cutting the Iron thereon you'll use to figure with the Cricut EasyPress, remember to activate the mirror function, which is on the assembly panel.
Note: you can only see these templates in the design panel; they do not visit the assembly panel.
Save to the Cloud
This function is one of my favorites since it can allow you to style on the PC, "save," then adjust and produce the file with your smartphone or tablet.
Basic Toolkit
These essential tools are all you would like for a craft session with Cricut.
Scissors
Cricut Scissors have hardened chrome steel blades for durability and smooth, even cuts. The micro tip blade gives you greater precision on all materials. A removable sheath protects the blades.
Grippers
Cricut Grippers lift and secure in one step with their reverse grip design: squeeze the handle to open them and release any pressure to shut them. Smooth interior dots help prevent tearing or damage to your materials.
Escardillo
The Cardillo Cricut is for "weed" or eliminates negative pieces around a cut image. When working with heat adhesive vinyl images, it helps you to accurately remove everything that's not a part of your backing sheet design. It is also ideal for removing small negative pieces from a cut cardboard image.

Scraper / Scraper XL
The Cricut Scraper is bespoke to wash up unwanted debris from Cricut cutting mats, contributing to a more durable mat.
It also can be used to smooth materials on the mat or polish materials like vinyl to get rid of air bubbles or wrinkles.
Spatula
The Cricut Spatula accurately lifts images off the Cricut cutting mat and thus prevents complex images from tearing or folding.
The angled spatula head allows you to slip underneath the fabric with ease.
Trimmer
The Cricut 12 "portable trimmer with a 15" swing arm helps you narrow or mark straight lines with precision. Replacement blade storage compartments at the bottom make new blades easily accessible on the go.
Marker Pen, The Cricut Marker Pen, allows you to use your Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker machine to mark fold lines for cards and envelopes, boxes, 3D projects, and more. The machines hold the Marking Pen and a cutting blade at the same time, so you can cut and mark in one step, without changing the mats.

The Cutout Tool
This tool is beneficial for several things, mainly to cut one part in another.
To understand its principle, we are going to take a kitchen tool: the kitchen utensil
When you make your small cookie dough, you are taking your kitchen utensil in the shape you want, and you press it on the dough; the result is a shape just like the kitchen utensil and a hole in negative compared to your kitchen utensil.
In the Space design, it is the same; for instance, you have a rectangle, you take another shape that you “press on,” and you get the kitchen utensil, the cut-out shape, and the negative shape on the part below.
First of all:
I advise you to ungroup the elements before cutting them You can only cut two pieces at the same time. If you decide on 3, the Cutout tool is going to be automatically grayed out.
The functions of the cutter are:

To show this function, I insert a Heart on my canvas as well as a smiling Cricut cricket! If your Cricut locust is below the heart, click "arrange" then "send forward." We can now place the Cricut locust where we would like it.
Once you are happy with your arrangement, select the 2 pieces and click on the cut at the bottom right.
And here you are with 3 pieces, as you can see in the layers panel.
Let's return to the image of the kitchen utensil: you have the cookie cutter, the piece is cut, and the negative piece.
Crop
For some reason (If anyone at Cricut reads me, I'm curious about knowing more!), there is no Crop tool in the Design Space except when uploading a picture.
The trick is to use the cutter to achieve our ends
For instance, I take the image Succulents (# M1AABF32 Rad & Happy).
I only want the first and the fifth pot. I insert a square in the canvas
I unlock the measurements to make it a rectangle, and then I place it to cover the other pots.
I select both parts and cut them via the cutout tool. On the layers panel, I see that several parts are created after our
cutting. I keep only the last one and delete the rest (right mouse button, delete).
For the first and the last pot, I act in the same way.
And there you go! I was able to recover the 2 pots that interested me!
Cutout without mat
The cutter has a third very interesting function: The preparation of our work for the additional large cut.
