see beyond the words,

the meter,

the rhymes,

the message.

Don’t read the poem—

don’t even try.

Experience it,

feel it.

See its peculiar vision,

taste its savory flavor,

smell its sweet fragrance,

hear its melodious voice,

feel its soft silken texture.

the story

could be mine.

As Neil wonders

if some other

young boy

stands by his window

dreaming his dreams,

I, also, wonder

if some other

young child

sits on my rock

atop Suicide Hill,

seeking solace

in

my

panoramic

view.
