2 July 2012

new beginnings never end

in this spiral of mine

I can't seem to comprehend

that I will be just fine

I can always try to bend

towards the grand design

as long as I have one good friend

to help me draw the line

2 July 2012

there are some things I can't hide

I try to take those things in stride

there are some things meant to be

secret from the rest of me

god knows that I've tried and tried

to keep them guessing when they've pried

there are times they get to see

things that might just set me free

3 July 2012

from menacing images I awake

in the middle of the night

in the darkest dark I shake

wishing for morning light

I can't make the nightmare go

kept on the edge of fright

I am safe and sound I know

but fear holds on too tight

4 July 2012

quiet in the neighborhood

early Sunday morning

no one yet up to no good

the crows issue a warning

Monday morning there's no hush

everyone is stirring

even birds are in a rush

and the cat stops purring

5 July 2012

when I watched you wave good-bye

I didn't want you to go

I was so afraid I'd cry
