There is a time in the year where the real reason of the festivities has been forgotten and a senseless celebration and a never-ending chain of commercial events takes place. Here in this collection of seasonal poems the poet takes you on a trip through the bad and good that is Christmas , a ride that takes in the beauty and the cruelty that has blighted all the magic that once was paramount to this time of year.
This is the poets second trip through Christmas his humour and English wit is still strong as ever as we read through the verses that will either bring tears of joy or tears of sadness, we should all take note of how far Christmas has travelled from what it once was.

It was a time when snow was pure
And all the kids loved Christmas time
In class we were innocent and cute
We made decorations from paper
We had water based glue and bottles of glitter
We had silly little scissors that never cut
We had good quality paper to make a calendar
And we had a post box to send our Christmas cards
We had started our plans from bonfire night
Who would we like to kiss under the mistletoe?
While everyone was pining for the new girl
Some us were being more devious in our plans
We were being pushed into performing the Christmas play
We had to wear green tights, me no way!
Who was going to be one of the three kings?
Hey leave me alone because I want to be nothing.
The teacher’s pet always ended up playing Mary
The whole stage was hers to show off
Joseph was not so keen on this blonde haired Mary
He always forgot his words and had a bad cough
We has started our plans from Halloween night
Who would we like to kiss under the Mistletoe?
While everyone was pining for the blonde girl
Some us were being more cunning in our plans.
We got our mums to buy some cheap cards
From Woolworths or maybe John Menzies
We sent an anonymous card to every girl in class
And the one with the cutest eyes got Christmas pressies
Nobody wanted a card from an idiot like you
You were the butt of all the jokes in class
It was going to be so hard work this year
To try and get just one girl under the mistletoe
We had started our plans from back in half term,
Who would we like to kiss under the mistletoe
While everyone was pining for the most fashionable girl
Some of were being selfish with our plans
Some boy got sick and just couldn’t make the play
The teacher thought I should be more involved in my class
I found myself in green tights, was going to be a singing tree
Just don’t ask me what a green tree was doing in Bethlehem
All the girls knew my handwriting and I was getting teased
The placed all my greetings cards together and threw them back at me
This was turning out to be the worst Christmas ever
And the teachers did not know how to help me
We had started plans way back last year
Who would we like to kiss under the Mistletoe?
While some of them left it to lady luck
But most of us would be forgotten after the play
Now you know how devious teachers can be
They knew somehow that I was in a lot of distress
They must have talked about me in their staff room
They always thought they knew best
They added a little something to the script
A little something that got Mary fuming
I was forced to kiss her under the mistletoe
In front of everyone, in front of the world
And all the parents applauded my embarrassment
Oh look at that little blonde boy blush!
