THE STREET CHILD

THE STREET CHILD

Endangered member of our race

Appendage on the residual list

Conditioned by the adultcentric world

Such neglect of the little ones.

Future of the world!

Such cliched view taken for granted

With a paltry sum left for Education

How seemingly hyperbolic that child is to adults what ants are to human..

Faced with harsh and unfavorable experiences

Child in domestic slavery, A return of slavery,

Child solider, A continuous cycle of conflict and bloodshed,

Child in the street, A future of barbaric wandering of mankind,

That wandering hungry child, ready raw material for ritualism.

For every harsh experience

Erodes at least one bar of their innocence,

Echoes of their reaction spark off names

" The Youths are violent

' They are lawless"

A usual system of giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it.

You see them RISING,

SCRAMBLING,

MAKING laws,

SMASHING the VAGABONDS.

But no law was humane enough to hear the silent cries of these fellows,

No law was kind enough to save them from the devouring jaws of the street.

When did we start wearing our clothes inside out?

Where is it now, the glory and the dream?

POVERTY

 Poverty

The most damning of all life’s story

One tragic tale, no glory

There is nothing dignified and descent left for you to give

Thy fear totally paralyzes, how can man live?

Where is thy milk of human kindness?

Dysfunctional and deaf to the cries of greatness

Why rise in such a cruel degree?

Your sting, poisons like that of a bee

Go wiser thou, and in the scale of sense

Weigh thy opinion against providence

Be sensible of the present outcry

Be human and let man’s pocket not run dry

You are sure an illness with but one cure

Zero self discipline, a cause of failure

Determination, what a powerful antidote

That heals your wicked poison, leaving behind no dot.
