Sumiko Knudsen was born in Japan, and she has lived in USA, UK and Denmark for many years. She graduated at Nordic College of Chinese Acupuncture in Denmark, and then she went on and studied at Beijing University of TCM in China. After that she studied and graduated at Nanjing University of TCM in China. and she earned Ph.D. She is a private practitioner in Denmark.

INTRODUCTION

The Single point therapy is a significant therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using the Single point therapy has the characteristics of good curative effects.

In Therapeutics of acupuncture, acupuncture points are the places where acupuncture needle is applied for the treatment of diseases. The acupuncture point location and the therapeutic result are related.

The processing is done by inserting thin disposable needles into specific point relating to the internal organs. In this way body is activated with flow of Qi (energy).

This book guides by the principles governing the prescription and combination of points of Acupuncture, and it lets to find easily acupuncture points of diseases.

The locations of acupuncture points are certainly related to physiological functions. Stimulating acupoints in meridians of the affected area may be effective and stimulate meridian points for each disease to approach the affected area. Stimulation through acupuncture point can correct imbalance and blockages in the flow of energy for restoring health.
