The Flame

The head is an ‘ignited mind’

Illuminating darkness,

Not aware of the pain it causes,

To its very own host and harness……

The flickering flame

Glows spotlessly bright

And I sit here watching it,

Crackle in delight…….

It’s like a hero to a damsel,

An oar to a lost boat…..

A click in the mind of a student…..

Blissfully ignorant of its symbiotical woes…….

But it is feeding on power,

It cares for no more…….

Lest the wax host perished supporting the flame…….

It would be death of honour…..

For, in this quest to succeed,

If we forget where our roots lie,

The life burns short yet bright…..

Leaving both guest and host to die…..

For the flame is a parasite…….

Flourishing in a ‘would be’ symbiotical relation…..

So it sucks out the soul of its host….

Both ceasing to exist…

Such is the connection between flame and candle……..

Power makes it hungry……

Or is it hungry for power?

The flickering flame of the CANDLE

Waits for its last hour…….or minute……or second……knowing it will come…..

It is fiery red at one stance……

And is pearly blue at the next….

The body of pristine white wax is dying….

With glistening drops of waxy blood and sweat………

The candle corrodes and sinks to its coffin

Allowing the flame to burn for its last glorifying moment……

And then the plugs flash back in….

And the candle flame is extinguished…..

And along side the flame……the wax lay in a heap…..

Sacrificing its life for a mere symbiotical guest…..
