DOM DESANTIS

CANADIAN HUSTLE

I’d also like to thank my parents and my sister for supporting me through writing the book. Even though I pretty much kept them in the dark while working on this. They were the first people to read it. I owe this story to four guys, four students that made my last moment in tech class worth remembering, if it wasn’t for the parody music video that we made together. Well, these chapters and this book wouldn’t exist. I wouldn’t be writing about myself right now. This is all here because of them. And I want Leo, Nick, Anthony, and Christian to know that they made this story happen. These four were my friends and maybe I’m writing these last parts as a way of saying. I miss them. CHAPTER 1: ONE NIGHT AT BOB ROYALS

The year was 1981, in my experience it was the craziest year of my life. My name’s Dom Bronson, if you haven’t heard of me I’m a big deal. Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, full brown neck beard and I still got service. In my home city  of Hamilton I was at the top of organized crime. I knew what was going on before people could lie to me about it. I was known to everybody as “The Domfather” on account of being an Italian Canadian. I ran the whole show, the world was my oyster and I had my best friend/business partner Jackie Millet to share it with me.

Jackie and I have been through everything. Childhood friends as you might say. A part about the 80s was the goofy looking hairstyles certain people had. Jackie had a black perm with a bad ass name like Millet. The result of his perm was that he always sweats when he’s nervous, which is on too many occasions. He wore a slick black suit, a light blue collared shirt and some shady sunglasses he picked up at a dollar store. I myself sported a grey suit jacket with black dress pants, a swift black fedora and a fine purple collar shirt(and yes I did also have sunglasses). Jackie and I were living the Canadian dream. Which is far different from yours.

A pretty good life for a 25 year old gangster and his 24 year old comrade. Our favourite place we loved to hang out had to be the most classy place in Hamilton. The Bob Royals Club. A dive where criminals all over the country could get a decent drink. The outside was green to express it’s sassy attitude. The inside was all flashy lights and disco balls. It had go-go dancers around every corner, which was half the reason we enjoyed coming here.

To see their magnificent and stunning bodies move around, get on the tables, while we would enjoy our drinks.

Everybody at the club loved us. Well those who were regulars anyway.

Liam Macman the club’s bartender who had brown hair that swayed to his right shoulder, who had the eyes of a friend, who owned and wore a blue and  black suit, greeted us with free drinks. “Boys, sit down. How have you been?” “Very good, Liam. Very good.”

I told him. Since I was a big deal I also weighed a few extra pounds while Jackie looked pretty skinny. “How’s business treating you, Liam?” I asked.

“It’s been moving ever since you agreed to do that music video for us.” said Liam as he took a shot. “Ah, I remember that. Man, those were good times.” said Jackie as he sipped his beverage.

I turned my head around and saw a dancer I have never seen before. She looked remarkably like Linda Harrison from 1968. Long brown hair and  eyebrows. Blue bra, panties, and heels. Young, with a magnificent and slim body that was stunning to my eyes. “Tailgating tenants, who is that?!” I asked. “Like her don’t you? She’s one of our newest dancers and already has the customers drooling over her. The name she chose is Jazine Blu. And there’s a thrillful fire within her dancing.” said Liam. “Now Ms. Blu, I’d like to get to know.” I said.

“I’ll put in a good word for you pal.” said Liam as he patted on the shoulder. “Any unusual customers of late, Liam?” asks Jackie. Liam points to the corner of the front window and says, “Some old friends of yours sitting down for a drink by the window.” “Mama Mia, not these douchebags again.” I said with my hand on my face. So we walked towards them, re-introducing ourselves to the people we once knew.
