I had memorised the exact minute we first met like a freshly etched tattoo on the back of my hand. The one you painfully regret, only because you can’t stop looking at it for the life altering moment it represents. Our encounter repeated, over and again, like it was through someone else’s eyes, a voyeur who watched the darkness of our deeds, a film recorded for my viewing pleasure. I remembered everything about her - the scent of her perfume, the feel of her curls around my fingers, and the softness of her honey toned skin aching with anticipation beneath me. The images of us were so deeply entrenched, that I wondered over and again, why we were no longer speaking.

At 5’4”, she was a petite blonde with strong ambition, and an athletic figure to match. Her smile lit up a room, and her emerald eyes drew any onlooker into her world as though nothing beyond her even existed. Her skin had been kissed by the sun; yet was contrastingly smooth, like that of a porcelain doll. She exuded confidence and charisma turning heads wherever she went, and I’m sure, leaving a trail of broken hearts in her wake - mine being one of them. She was the type of woman that I envied growing up, the type of woman I wished to become or at least befriend. Most intriguingly though, she was the type of woman I wished I could be with.
