Beschreibung

This book is all about Christmas and what it means to the poet, in what should be the greatest time of the year can be quickly poisioned by greed and envy. This poet dusts off a few memories so we can learn exactly what he thought and now thinks of Christmas, with the use of poetry he paints a very detailed picture.

This is another feather in the hat for this new indie poet.

For Christmas 2015 the poet has inserted a new chapter to the delight of all Santas little helpers worldwide.

Just For Christmas

Dedicated to the best person in the world, my muse!BookRix GmbH & Co. KG81371 Munich

It is Just Another Holiday.

Greetings from your favourite poet, hopefully this book will be out before Christmas and therefore I can say seasonal greetings to all my readers. The poems included here were all mainly written at the end of November, only two were written in 2013 (Seasonal Kiss and The day…) they are obviously about Christmas and the festive season, how things change from childhood to being a young man, how the gloss of Christmas loses its shine when you are a young man. I admit the first poem is a bit grim and negative but do not worry they brighten up after that. I do not want to come across having an ego but I just wanted to share with everybody what Christmas has meant to me in the past and at the moment, the difference between the cultures of England and Italy, the way Christmas is just one big fat commercial pudding.

This my friends is a free collection of poetry, it might not be the best poetry I have written, but it is my gift to you, to say thank you for your support over these last months.

At this point I would like to send you best wishes for this festive season from me and my muse Elisa, just remember not to exaggerate too much!

The Ghosts Of Christmas Past.

It is the time of year,

Where we should be,

Full of festive cheer,

And the town lights,

Are sewn to the lampposts,

And the town square,

Full of tacky decorations,

Instead of being bare,

And in this eco age,

And in the conservation of green,

We chop down a pine forest,

To show the world,

Our fantastic art and electricity

Is burnt for fun,

And oh it is Christmas

Once again, oh no,

And I remember,

When things were better,

Things were innocent,

Things were fun,

None of this alcohol

None of this spending spree,

Just party time,

And a bent Christmas tree,

And I remember,

Must have been 1981,

I have the photo,

Of me in a dressing gown,

In my bedroom,

The walls papered,

With rocket ships,

I got my record player,

Yes it was a good year,

Adam and the ants,

Prince Charming,

My first records,

They are still with me,

And I remember,

Going back even further,

Before my sister,

And her pigtails arrived,

Living in Ribbleton,

That was a good year too,

I remember a big stock,

Of brand new toys,

My mum must have got,

A discount working,

At the toy shop, warehouse,

I cannot remember much,

But it was on Ribbleton Lane,

And I remember in those years,

With and without my sister,

Those where the better years,

Visiting Nan in Deepdale,

My aunts’ houses full of booze,

Watching Flash Gordon on TV,

Eating lots of chocolate,

Force fed some tangerines,

Get beat up by cousins,

Playing out in the cold.

And Christmas was so special then,

We do not really believe in him,
