The fooled was a company and a person at the same time. Josh Sean Ferning started a company which stole money from rich people to give the poor and for the company's gain through magic and manipulation. Josh employed a group of six people and named them the herdmen to do this work for him. Well, the herdmen were not his only employees but they were his main employees. He had a lot of other people working for him undercover. The herdmen did not know Josh or what he sounds like or looked like because he only spoke to them using an edited voice behind a sophisticated door. Josh had completely changed his identity so that they wouldn't know who he was. The herdmen proved to be extremely talented in this field. However even though they worked for the fooled as magicians their lives were full of drama, suspense, complicated friendships and romantic relationships, mental struggles and other issues.

Prologue
“My name is Josh Sean Ferning and I am a con-artist. I mean that’s what legal authorities might say about me but this is what I say about me, I know how to make a boring situation interesting. I run a company which I call the fooled and I know that sounds really weird because on a serious note, what kind of company has that name in the first place? Well, what I do is something my great grandfather Larenz Ferning did and he was great at it. He was known for it. My father told me that he and my grandfather ignored the work my great grandfather did because it’s crime and it’s really not a good way to make a living but the way I see it, it’s the best way to make money. Let’s face it, what is a better living without money? Money can’t buy happiness, oh please spare me that crap. How you got the money is what determines whether you get to enjoy it or not and I love the way I earn money. It’s dangerous, manipulative and fun. My father told me that success is a blessing only if it is filled with truth but I chose to differ. To me success is gained by deception or truth maybe, any path you choose to take as long as you won’t give up. What I know is my father never became an Albert Einstein because of his physics and life philosophies. My father wanted to be like Einstein and he had dreams of being known but he died without anyone knowing who he was. I myself, felt like I didn’t know him. In fact, I didn’t know him. Maybe my mother did, God rest her soul. That is why I never took his words seriously. Well, this is what I took; I took Larenz’s book. I took the book that he wrote everything he did and how he did it. It portrayed and projected before my eyes, the art of fooling people and how to make them believe in me through the use of a great and powerful tool you will find out later. I also learnt how to creep into the minds of people and make them sing along to my tunes because I kind of hate dancing so I don’t make people dance to my tunes. According to me, that book opened a door to another world for me which is why I chose to use a door to conceal my identity and to open up another world for a certain group of people. You will get what I mean later or maybe not. I don’t understand your reasoning capacity for me to assure anyone anything. The people who work at my company are ordinary citizens, thieves, business people, lawyers, the police and some are even doctors. Here is a spoiler, these are just undercover jobs. They are all there to prepare for what I call the herdmen, the greatest force in the world. The herdmen will come and do what they do and I will be there but you won’t know who I am until I want you to because I have a different story, a different name and a different identity. Well let’s look at the bright side. At least you know this about me, I am Josh Sean Ferning and I am the founder and the chief executive officer of the fooled and you can call me the fooled also because that’s who I am. I don’t really remember how I came up with the name, the fooled. I guess it is because I made fooling and deceiving people a priority. I am many things, a criminal, a sweet human being, a deceiver, a betrayer and everything else you would like to call me. Well, in case you didn’t notice, this is just me taking a video which shows my back view. I am wearing a navy-blue hoodie and I am sitting on a chair saying this nonsense. Your mission is to find out who I am because I can be anyone and I edited my voice even when I am going to speak behind the sophisticated door. My voice still sounds male even though it is edited. At least I believe my voice sounds male. This is to anyone this might concern.” These are the words of Josh Sean Ferning, the fooled. Legend has it, when the fooled is revealed the game ends.
CHAPTER1: The league is chosen
18-year-old girl Percy Kristen was holding a 1-liter bottle of milk while she was walking down the streets when a random person wearing a black leather jacket, black cap, black surgical face mask, black denim trousers and black gloves forced a phone in her hand and he told her the phone call was hers and he quickly walked away. It seemed strange to Percy as she reached her cabin and she took out her keys from the pocket of her track bottom and she unlocked the cabin quickly and then she entered. She placed the phone on her right ear and pressed it against the ear so that she gains access to whatever was at the other side of the phone call. “Percy Kristen, you have been chosen to be a member of the fooled so report to the headquarters immediately. The address has already been sent to you on that phone.” Said an anonymous voice. “Wait, what on earth is the fooled?” Percy asked but the person at the other side of the phone call had already hung up. That was how Percy Kristen, the first herdmen was chosen.
A 26-year-old gentleman, Liam Jacob Dunten was at the benches in the gym sitting down and drinking water when the same random person, dressed the same way placed a phone on his lap and told him the phone call was his and he quickly walked away. Liam took the phone and looked at it worriedly, he slowly lifted up his hand and pressed the phone against his ear. “Liam Jacob Dunten, you have been chosen to be a member of the fooled so report to the headquarters immediately. The address has already been sent to you on that phone.” The anonymous voice spoke again. “The fooled? Man, how do you know my name?” Asked Liam but the person had already hung up. He checked the phone to see if the message was pre-recorded. “Oh, so this was not pre-recorded.” Liam told himself. That was how Liam, the second herdmen was chosen.
32-year-old Vince Rider was playing solitaire on his computer in his room when someone knocked the door to his living room. He walked out of the room and he went through the living room so that he could attend to the door. He reached the door which was also the entrance to the living room from the outside and he met the same person who gave Liam and Percy phones and the person was dressed the same way. “Sir, I have a package for you. Can you sign here please?” Said the man who delivered phones as he gave Vince a pen and Vince signed for his package in a small book. The man gave Vince the phone and he told him that the phone call was his and he took the book from Vince and he walked away. “What the hell is going on here? Am I being pranked or something? I don’t trust situations like this one.” Vince told himself as his hand was trembling while he was holding that phone. Well, he pressed the phone against his ear. “Vince Rider, you have been chosen to be a member of the fooled so report to the headquarters immediately. The address has already been sent to you on that phone.” Said the anonymous voice. Vince checked the phone. “What! He hung up on me and that voice is super weird and edited. What exactly is the fooled?” Vince told himself. That was how Vince, the third herdmen was chosen.
37-year-old female nurse, Kelly Devon was at the hospital wearing her blue scrubs and she was standing with her 15-year-old son. “Go home, I will see you there.” She told him and her son walked away. A doctor walked over to her and he gave her the phone saying, “Some strange man in a mask and a cap and black gloves gave me this phone and he told me to give you because the phone call is for you. When you are done, attend to the patient in ward 34.” Kelly took the phone and she answered saying the word ‘hello.’ “Kelly Devon, you have been chosen to be a member of the fooled so report to the headquarters immediately. The address has already been sent to you on that phone.” The anonymous voice spoke again. That was how Kelly, the fourth herdmen was chosen.
20-year-old Ty Kevin was walking back home alone while others were walking in groups at his college when the same random person forced the phone in his hand and told him the phone call was his and he walked
away. “Is this one of those spy missions that they do in movies or it could be a prank?” Ty told himself. “Oh my God, he is talking to himself. He is such a freak.” Said one of the two boys who were passing by. “How did I come from being popular in High school to being a freak in College? Life is indeed like a road, at one point you are travelling smoothly and you suddenly take a turn that will lead you to a road full of port holes and then by chance you might take another good turn and travel smoothly again.” Ty told himself again as he pressed the phone against his ear. “Ty Kevin, you have been chosen to be a member of the fooled so report to the headquarters immediately. The address has been sent to you on that phone.” Said the anonymous voice. “This has to be some sort of joke.” He told himself after he looked at the phone which was previously near his ear. That was Ty Kevin, the fifth herdmen. The sixth and last herdmen was Stephan Arrow. There was a man giving him money saying, “Thank you for unlocking my door. Locking the keys inside the house was a mistake.” Stephan accepted the money saying, “thank you, sir.” He placed the money in his pocket and then he started walking down the road, leaving the man’s house. The phone person came to him and gave him the phone and told him the phone call was his and walked away. Stephan made a slight smile full of confusion. He slowly shook his head while staring at the phone. “This can’t be safe.” Stephan spoke as he slowly pressed the phone against his ear with a face full of confusion, fright and uncertainty. “Stephan Arrow, you have been chosen to be a member of the fooled so report to the headquarters immediately. The address has been sent to you on that phone.” Said the anonymous voice. “How do you know my name?” Stephan asked but he was ignored. All the six herdmen reported to the fooled out of curiosity of what this was all about. Percy and Liam reached there at the same time. They reached a door and it was wooden and brown and it had the number 455 written in black. The place looked like an ordinary room from the outside, not a company. “Did you receive a phone call too?” Asked Liam to Percy. “Yes, I did.” Percy replied. “Do you know what this is about?” Asked Liam. “No. Should we try to open the door and are we the only people who received the phone call?” Percy asked. “I’m not sure. Maybe we should just wait here. Whoever is supposed to meet us will come here.” Said Liam. At that moment, the other four reached there at the same time but coming from different directions. “Did everyone here receive a phone call?” Asked Vince. “I guess so.” Liam replied. “At least if we are being murdered, I’m not alone.” Stephan spoke. The door suddenly opened on its own. Percy entered first and then everyone else entered. The door closed after they entered. They reached a room full of mirrors and old furniture and they saw another door in front of them. “Welcome to the fooled. I am your host, the fooled. You have all been selected to join me in the world of fooling people through magic and hypnosis. All of you have different talents and you will be great working as a team. In front of you, there is a wooden box and everyone has to pick a card in the box.” Said the fooled. Liam picked up the box and he opened it and everyone picked a card. “I cannot see you but I will tell you this. According to your cards, Percy Kristen you are now called Reviver and you lead the team. I’m kind of great at taking over people’s minds which is why Percy entered first as the leader of this team. (Percy checked her card and it was written, Reviver.) Vince Rider, you are Deceiver. You have the most precious place on the team. Liam Jacob Dunten, you are Robin Hood because you steal from the rich to give the poor. Ty Kevin, you are now Nerd. Stephan Arrow, your name doesn’t completely change. You are Arrow and lastly Kelly Devon who might not have any idea why she was chosen, you are killer. All of you are determined for greatness. You are supposed to start a show on my behalf. The world needs to be introduced to other forms of entertainment and scams. Well, people cannot keep on going to watch movies and concerts and hearing the same stories about big heists and robberies. We are doing it in a way that they won’t notice we are taking something because they will be gaining something too. Our main concept is the Robin Hood concept, steal from the rich and give the poor or steal back what was stolen from the poor and give it to them. However you take it which is why one of you had to be Robin Hood. You are going to take over their minds and your combination makes the herdmen.” Explained the anonymous voice. “I don’t get it, how are we going to do this? What’s in it for us?” Asked Percy. “Okay, you are all going to make objects
teleport, perform card magic, appear and disappear and all sort of magic in such a way that you steal money from people framing other people such as lawyers, judges, the police, you name it. When you do this, people will not trust the police and they will be on your side. We are changing the world as we create a world where people would rather trust criminals who give them money than the police who delay in giving them justice. Each of you has a special role in this game and when you play it, win it. I know what you’re thinking. You are not real magicians but this is not real magic. This is also based on technicalities like what you all do for a living, except Kelly. I am going to give you a training book written by the great Larenz Ferning. You are going to train yourselves under Percy’s leadership and you will find a way to make money too. Just because you have to give it doesn’t mean you have to give all of it. This line applies to two things, love and the money you will earn. Try by all means to protect yourselves as I will try to protect you, good luck.” Said the anonymous voice. The voice disappeared and the door was opened for the herdmen to exit. They found the training book outside by the door and Percy picked it. “Guys, I guess we kind of work for the fooled now. We need to understand each other. So, Percy where do we start?” Said Arrow. “Are you all some sort of magicians because I’m not? I’m a nurse and I don’t know what the hell is going on here.” Asked Kelly. “Okay, my name is Percy Kristen. I’m 18 years old, probably younger than all of you and I really don’t know why they made me the leader. I do magic but I probably specialize in card magic. Give me a deck and I will work all the money out of you. Even the amount that you don’t have. So, now it’s your turn to introduce yourselves.” Said Percy. “My name is Vince Rider and I can also do a few card tricks and other magic tricks but I specialize in hypnosis. Trust me, it works. I have threatened people with it, blackmailed people with it and mostly brainwashed people and made people do what I want. I also seduce women, I’m pretty good at that too. I’m 32 years old.” Said Vince. “My name is Stephan Arrow and I’m good at unlocking anything. Nothing is too secured for me. I was arrested for robbing a few places before. I am 28 years old.” Explained Stephan. “I’m Ty Kevin and I am good at computers, hacking and coding. I know everything there is to know about technology and I am 20 years old.” Said Ty. “Complete definition of a nerd.” Percy commented. “I am not a nerd.” Ty responded. “Okay, I’m Liam Jacob Dunten and I am a good illusionist. I manipulate people using illusions. I am 26.” Said Liam. “And I’m Kelly Devon, I’m a nurse and I have no idea what’s my worth. I am 37.” Said Kelly. “Now we know each other, we are a bunch of lunatics. And Kelly, no matter how worthless we feel, we are all worth something. I’m an exception though, I’m worth everything.” Said Percy. “Where should we start?” Asked Liam. “Our first fans are going to be rich college students. So Vince, the deceiver, you are going to crash at a College and hypnotize the College principal and tell him or her to make you a science teacher and Ty, the nerd you are going to be a popular student and I don’t know how you are going to be popular. Make a plan and I will email you the rest of my plan. I need email addresses.” Said Percy. “Do you even have a strategy? I think we need to stick to the idea. Since we need to start small let’s start at a high school prom.” Suggested Stephan. “Good idea, tell us how.” Said Percy. “All we need is Ty’s computer ideas and all our talents combined and the strategy will formulate itself, just like magic.” Stephan explained. “Okay that’s brilliant but we need a meeting place.” Suggested Percy. “How about your place?” Asked Ty. “No way, it’s too small. Guys, Mr. Arrow and Mr. Robin Hood are going to find a place for us to meet by tomorrow and we will meet there at seven in the morning and we will learn each and every trick there is to learn.” Said Percy. “Well, that sounds like a command from our leader so I will need to write the address on all of your cards. We will meet at my place.” Said Arrow. Stephan took a pen out of his pocket. “What kind of guy walks with a pen in his pocket?” Asked Percy. “The kind of guy who is prepared for a situation like this one.” Stephan replied. The herdmen spent the next day practicing and learning new tricks and they surprisingly formed a strategy. Three days after the herdmen had known each other, Percy received a phone call from the fooled asking her to come there immediately while she was sitting on a small sofa in her cabin. She went back to the place they all first met. “Good day Reviver, I would like to send you on your first mission and in whatever you do know that the fooled is behind your back.” Said the anonymous
voice. “We have already drafted our first mission.” Percy replied. “Well drop your plans because the herdmen are not starting small.” Said the fooled. A plan was projected in front of her eyes through the use of a projector which reflected on the wall. “Tell me what you see.” Said the fooled. “I see the biggest stage in the city and you want us to perform there which is not going to happen because it’s too secured and risky and I don’t want to spend the rest of my life running away from the police.” Said Percy. “The fooled is behind your back. You can leave.” Said the fooled. “What the? Hey I’m not done here. I need details. How am I going to do this?” Asked Percy. “Leave now.” Said the voice. Percy just shook her head and she left. Percy left the company and she had a meeting with her team members the next day. They were all sitting down on chairs in one room and only Percy was standing. “Change of plan. What do we know about our new target, the OTRONER building? It’s highly secured and big auctions happen there. My grandfather bought his first car at an OTRONER auction in 1974. We are the showmen and we have to turn it into a magic show and an auction at the same time. We have to make sure no one takes videos. It will risk us.” Explained Percy. “We are in.” Vince replied. “Good. You guys are real criminals because I wasn’t into this whole idea when it was presented to me.” Said Percy. The next day after they had planned their show, the herdmen went to hijack the OTRONER building. Vince hypnotized the security men by offering them a handshake and he looked straight into their eyes and told them to go home since no one was noticing because it was not yet time for the auction and only a few people were coming in. They put in Liam and Stephan to be the security just for a small period of time since Liam and Stephan were dressed as the security guards just for that particular moment. This is how they got rid of the CCTV people, Ty hacked the system using his phone and when all the computers were now showing a red triangle with a red exclamation mark inside. Vince spoke using Ty’s phone telling them to go home. It was an electric hypnosis and all three of them went home and Ty was put in their place so that he gets full control of the show and so that he makes sure that the police won’t find any evidence. They made sure everyone left their gadgets and cell phones behind before entering the building. Lastly, Vince got rid of the auctioneer by going to his car, hypnotizing him and asking him to go home. They sent Kelly to go and start the show. “Ladies and gentlemen we are the herdmen. Everyone here was made to believe that magic died along with the great Larenz Ferning and a lot of other magicians. Well we revived it so without rather delay I give you the Reviver.” Said Kelly. At that moment, the crowd was hit by a strong wave of confusion because they believed that they were supposed to have an auction. People in the audience started looking at each other and asking each other what was going on. Percy made her way to the stage as Kelly left the stage. “Ladies and gentlemen allow me to perform my first mind blowing trick. It’s not that much of a trick because a lot of magicians have used it. This was supposed to be an auction according to my understanding but we will get there, there will be an auction. Just not in the way you were imagining it. Imagination is a great tool though but not now. So, you all see this card (as she lifted up a 9 of diamonds.) I’m going to make it disappear.” Said Percy. She pressed the card between her hands and it mysteriously disappeared. Everyone cheered in amazement. Percy left and Ty walked to the stage from the back stage as he was pushing a black table which was a bit tall and thin with wheels. The table had a big red button which was attached to it at the middle on top of the table. Ty placed the table besides him and he said, “Okay ladies and gentlemen that was Reviver. Well, my name is Nerd. I’m going to press this button and a lot of numbers are going to shuffle themselves on the screens that are in front of you until they reach a random number and that exact number will be someone’s exact age.” He pressed the button and the screens gave him the number 56. “Okay there is a 56-year-old in this building and now we have to locate the seat number so I’m going to press the button again. This is all random ladies and gentlemen.” Said Ty. He pressed the button again and it gave him the number 82. “Seat number 82, can you stand up?” Asked Ty. The man sitting on seat number 82 stood up. “Okay, are you really 56 years old?” Asked Ty. “Yes, that is my exact age.” The man confirmed. “Okay sir I don’t know you and I have never met you but is your name Fred Wallas?” Asked Ty. “Yes.” The man replied. The look on
the faces of each and every member of the audience was a sign of amazement as they made a round of applause. “Thank you ladies and gentlemen. Now sir, this is what I really need you to do. I need you to check your right trousers pocket.” Suggested Ty. Fred checked his pocket and he found the disappeared card. “Show it to everyone.” Said Ty. Fred showed everyone the card. “Wow that was good. So sir, we have to ask you to take a different seat and switch with another person after we press the button to find the seat number of that person in order for us to perform our new trick. I want you to welcome my good friends Arrow and Robin Hood to take over this show.” Said Ty. Ty left the stage as Stephan and Liam came to take over. Stephan pressed the button and the screens showed the number 9. “Oh, the card number. What a coincidence. May the person with this seat number step forward as Mr. Fred takes that seat.” Said Arrow. They did exactly what they were told. Back to the time when Percy and her team were planning this particular show while the other herdmen were sitting and only Percy was standing, Percy explained the following to the team. “Our target booked seat 9. She is a business woman whose business is drug dealing and killing many innocent people for God knows what, she just enjoys killing. Massive serial killer alert.” Said Percy. “That’s not true, she has a reason and you know it but you just have a personal vendetta against her.” Said Stephan “Fine, she kills for money and possessions. She has a gang who work for her and no one knew she is behind all this except those who did the work for her, until we found out. She is the reason why my grandmother who was my only relative died. So yeah, this show is sort of a revenge plan and to bring justice to people.” Back to the show. Well, she didn’t notice that she was being played. No one knew her real name. She was known by the name Racheal Hills. “Oh welcome Ms. R. Hills but I have this feeling that your birth name is Josie Darden.” Said Robin Hood. The smile on her face quickly faded as she started to wonder how they knew her real name. Liam quickly went closer to her and he slightly pushed her head on his shoulder, snapped his finger and whispered in her ear, “You will do as I say from now till the end of the show and after this show you shall forget everything that happened and give us praises.” “Ladies and gentlemen, this lady over here is rich but that’s not the point she is one of us and she is known as the transporter. So, she is going to help us transport something. This is the best trick ever.” Said Liam. Arrow took over, “Okay since this was supposed to be an auction, I want everyone to get back their phones. All your phone cameras have been disabled. I’ve just been informed. So, we are going to use Ms. Darden’s money as the assets. Okay, the screens right now are showing Ms. Darden’s bank account and the auctioneer’s account, so her account is two hundred million dollars and the auctioneer’s account is $0. So, who would like to buy $50 000 for $500?” People placed their bids and the money was sold for $1 000. The money was going into an unknown untraceable account. In easier terms, the herdmen had figured out a way to steal money while pleasing the audience. People placed bids until the amounts were like this, Ms. Darden: $100 000 000, auctioneer’s account: $60 000 000. “Okay the rest of the money is going to everyone’s account. It’s going to be equally shared among all of you. Thank you everyone. This is our gift to you. We are the herdmen and we will be back.” Said Arrow. Vince came and he shouted the words thank you and they left the stage. Part of the audience was Inspector Henry Huntler and Detective Sam Fanon. A robbery had just happened before their eyes. They tried to chase the herdmen and even assembled the whole police force but they couldn’t find them anywhere and they didn’t have any idea which route the herdmen
had taken. All they got was Ms. Darden and Mr. Wallas. “So, Mr. Wallas. What really happened during tonight’s show or auction whatever that was?” Asked Inspector Huntler and he was with his female assistant Kerry. “Look, detective I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about, okay? I don’t remember being there. I don’t know what happened. I just want to go home to my family. My wife might give birth.” Said Mr. Wallas. “By the way I’m an inspector. Kerry I think we need to give Mr. Wallas time to think things through. I think he is in trauma.” Said Huntler. “Sure boss.” Said Kerry. On the other hand Fanon was questioning Ms. Darden. “So, Ms. Hills or should I say Darden? These people exposed your real name and claimed you were one of them and they robbed you publicly. We want to know why you had another name and if you’re really one of them.” Asked Fanon. “I don’t remember what you’re saying but the herdmen are good people and they are concerned about the people.” Said Ms. Darden. Huntler quickly got in the room. “What’s wrong Inspector Huntler I’m in the middle of something here?” Asked Fanon. “There is no purpose for all this. I think they have been hypnotized. Did you see that some people on that show are the criminals we are finding very difficult to catch? I saw Vince Rider although he didn’t perform and Stephan Arrow. Remember, Stephan was released 4 months ago and now he is back in it. Next time we catch him we won’t let him go. These guys are a bunch of Robin Hoods. Steal from the rich to give the poor, that’s the concept.” Said Huntler. “And how do you know they have been hypnotized? What if they are messing with us?” Asked Fanon. “Didn’t you see what happened on that stage when that guy pushed Darden’s head on his shoulder for a very short time?” Asked Huntler. “You might be right. We need to catch those guys and let go of these innocent people.” Said Fanon. “Yeah, only Mr. Wallas is going as for the lady she needs to know what happened and I think that while robbing her they exposed her. The herdmen fled to a secret old building near a damp site. “Well done guys, I clearly thought we were going to mess up but you guys were great.” Percy spoke. “Yeah, that was something else. It was exciting. The plan was well articulated. It all started when we hypnotized Mr. Wallas before the show since Ty hacked into the system and he discovered that Mr. Wallas was one of the people who bought tickets to the auction and then we put the card which was identical to the one that technically disappeared in his pocket. We then set those screens to stop at the numbers that we needed in order to fool our audience. Percy didn’t even make that card disappear, she just dropped it without the audience noticing and she stepped on it so that it sticks under her shoe because there was a sticky substance under her shoe.” Said Arrow. “Well explained. That performance was epic and so was Ty especially when he hacked all the phone cameras and he disabled them. You guys helped me get my revenge, thank you. Okay I have to go, the fooled is supposed to give me our next mission. You are safe here so don’t go anywhere until I’m back. I need to go with Ty, actually.” Said Percy and she left and Ty followed her and they went to the fooled. “Hello fellas welcome back, congratulations on completing your first mission. The fooled is impressed. So, this is your second mission. You are going to perform in the middle of a busy street to make sure you have everyone’s attention including the cops. Make sure they won’t catch Percy because, before you do your second mission I need Percy to hand over herself.” Said the fooled. “Oh really wow. I won’t complain because all you will say is, the fooled is behind your back. So, if I surrender what happens?” Said Percy. “Okay, so you now know the
drill. You are going there, say you surrender and the rest is on page 45 of the book. This whole situation is well planned. Ty, when Percy is at the police station you are going to wait for her outside. You will be in the car that is parked outside and you will drive as they follow you. There is a sort of switch which is going to happen. You will see it all on page 45.” Said the fooled. “Well that sounds risky and dangerous, and is this all written on one page?” Ty spoke. “The fooled is behind your back, leave.” Said the fooled. “What?” Ty spoke and he seemed surprised by the fooled’s attitude towards him. “Don’t worry he always does that, let’s go.” Said Percy. Ty and Percy left the fooled and they went to Percy’s cabin and they studied the page and the page included new tricks which needed real practice. “Okay Percy, this part says you need to make them believe you are hypnotizing them when you are not to reduce your levels of committing crime how is that possible?” Asked Ty. “It’s possible. Don’t you know that many things that happen are your beliefs sometimes? Sickness can be a belief. I will pull it off. We need to leave my cabin or else we will get caught. Let’s get going and let’s do this.” Said Percy. Percy went to the police station. She walked inside the station and Fanon who was standing with Henry Huntler noticed her. “Oh, you are one of those herdmen. Guys, arrest her.” Ordered Fanon. “Wait, can you hear me out before you do something you will regret? I’m a magician I can just disappear right now and I came here on my own so I can’t be that foolish.” Said Percy. “She’s right man let’s calm down.” Said Huntler to his co-worker Fanon. “Thank you. Okay so I’m here to answer all your questions about our performance. It was lit, wasn’t it? ( smiles)” Said Percy. “Take her to the interrogation room.” Ordered Huntler. She was taken to the room and she sat in there with her hands cuffed. “Okay, what do you know about Ms. Darden?” Asked Huntler who was sitting at the other side since there was a table between them. “Oh Darden, she is filthy rich and I admire her. A woman that rich? Trust me I was inspired. Inspired to steal from her of course. I don’t know if that’s a valid inspiration but I was inspired. She is such an inspiration. Women power right? Man, give me five. Oh I’m in cuffs.” Said Percy. “You just admitted that you stole from Ms. Darden. That can be used against you in a court of law. Tell us what’s going on we don’t have time for your jokes.” Said Huntler. “I will just say that you guys pressurized me to admit to something I didn’t do. I can twist the tape and make me sound victimized. I am a magician after all. It will be your word against mine. Anyway, we just saw someone rich and we wanted money, so we did the show.” Said Percy. “What’s your name? And do you realize that part of your team are the city’s most wanted criminals?” Asked Huntler. “I’m Reviver, team leader.” Said Percy. “Can you stop this nonsense for goodness sake!” Shouted Huntler full of rage. “Oh man, don’t you ever make a mistake of losing your cool man. I will take over your mind and control you right now so calm down.” Said Percy. “Okay I’m calm, how did you know her actual name?” Asked Huntler. “Same way I know your name is Henry Huntler and you are 41 years old, no it’s 40.” Said Percy. “Okay, this is getting out of hand. I can’t do this!” Shouted Huntler as he left the room. “What’s wrong boss?” Asked Kerry. “Fanon, you do this. I think I’m wasting time trying to get an amount of sense out of this kid. Let’s let her go.” Said Huntler. “No. Let’s go back in that room and let’s do this together.” Said Fanon. Fanon, Huntler and Kerry walked inside the room and they sat in front of Percy. “Okay girl, you know what we see in you? A fool who is being played by her teammates. Give us them and whatever we need and we will protect you.” Said Fanon. “Wait, sir is your name Samson Fanon?” She asked. “Only a few people know my full name, how
do you know?” Asked Fanon. “She did the same thing to me.” Said Huntler. “I see it in the woman next to you. I see your name in her brain and it seems like you are her dream husband. Kerry has a crush on you sir. Do something about it, come on.” Said Percy. “She is lying detective Fanon.” Said Kerry. “She seems like a qualified mentalist to me and I believe her.” Said Fanon. “But I had liked you Kerry for years and you rejected me for Fanon?” Said Huntler. “Well she likes me.” Said Fanon. “This is crazy.” Kerry spoke. “No, you are crazy. Fanon, really?” Said Henry. They started quarrelling as Percy removed the cuffs on her hands through hand joint dislocation and she escaped. She ran into the car and Ty drove away. “So, tell me. Did the plan work?” Asked Ty. “No I got nervous and I did not tell them that I surrender and I did not make them believe that I’m hypnotizing them so in conclusion, I messed up.” Said Percy. “Okay so what did you do?” Asked Ty. “I left them quarrelling so you need to drive faster. This means the chase and the switch are not going to happen. I messed up, man.” Said Percy.
A few minutes later, Fanon figured out that they had been played again. “Huntler, stop talking. She’s gone.” Said Fanon. “Let’s follow her.” Suggested Huntler. “No. We don’t know her name and she came here alone. Its not like we arrested her. So, following her might become a trap and we are following her to where exactly?” Said Fanon. “How old is that kid?” Asked Kerry. “You shut up. Your stupid brain is the one that got us in this situation.” Said Henry. “Huntler please, I think we need to research more about her to get them. This is getting out of hand.” Said Fanon.
Ty and Percy came back to the rest of the team. “I have a quick question. When we were learning how to do those tricks, Vince taught us how to hypnotize a person who is not calm because that is technically the point of hypnosis. To calm someone down and takeover their mind. Well, he also said that we should try by all means to hypnotize a person who is already calm and he said that when we don’t want to hypnotize someone we tell them to calm down if they are not calm and tell them that there is a possibility of hypnosis if they are not calm. Why should we tell them that if hypnosis mainly works on a calm person?” Asked Ty. “I can see you are a man of questions so since I’m Vince, I will answer you. For hypnosis to work as I said, someone needs to be in a comfortable and concentrative state which is technically calming down. We tell a person to calm down and not to be in a panic mode as a way to make someone calm down which is the right state for hypnosis incase there is a need to hypnotize them even though it was not your intention at first. I call it reverse psychology some people call it lying but then again its what I believe in that matters. I believe Percy did not gather us here so that we can talk about hypnosis. You can go ahead, Ms. Kristen.” Said Vince. “So, we have been given a new mission. It’s a street performance but this time we are not gaining anything. The money we got is going back to the people and we get to keep 6 million, so that we each get a million. Don’t ask me why because I’m just a messenger.” Said Percy. “Okay, but what took you so long to come back? We were worried.” Asked Liam. “Yeah I had to go and have a conversation with the police, which leads me to my next point. After the show you are all getting arrested except me.” Said Percy. “How is that fair?” Asked Kelly. “Don’t worry the fooled is behind your back, did I get that right Percy?” Said Ty. “That’s right Ty.” Said Percy.
CHAPTER2: Perfomance2
“Enlighten us please.” Said Vince. “Look everything I tell you I would have figured out why myself because that voice only gives you missions without explanations and all it says is, the fooled is behind your back and it asks you to leave. I’m tired of solving issues for all of you. This time do it yourselves, but please make sure you get arrested. I don’t want any of you messing up.” Said Percy. “I have a 15-year-old son who needs me and I don’t even know why I’m involved in all this.” Said Kelly. “The fooled is behind your back.” Said Percy. “I’m tired of hearing that, give me a solution.” Said Kelly. “I was 13 when my grandmother died. She was all I had but I took care of myself and so will your son. I had to become an adult at 13 and he is 15.” Said Percy. “But then he will never forgive me.” Said Kelly. “That sounds more like a you problem. Not mine. If you want you can leave the team for all I care but if you are staying, do as I say.” Percy responded. “Vince and I are the most wanted criminals and if we get arrested they won’t let us go.” Said Stephan. “My reply still stands, the fooled is behind your back as long as you say what I tell you when you get arrested.” Said Percy. “Okay guys, Percy almost got arrested which is why she is excluded but she stuck to the plan. So do the same.” Said Ty. Percy didn’t actually stick to the plan, Ty lied to prove a point. “Okay, so we are going to separate. We have a snow machine. Liam, you are going to switch it on and perform a trick of bringing snow, controlling it and stopping it. I am going to perform very difficult card tricks but I will be here and performing. Ty, you will place this imitating machine on my spot. It’s going to look as if it’s me when it’s my reflection so that when the police reach there, I will switch it off and it will look like I just disappeared.” Percy spoke. “It’s called a hologram.” Ty spoke. “I know but I prefer calling it imitating machine because the fooled told me that our crowd hypnotism will work if we call it that.” Explained Percy. “That’s not true.” Said Ty. “Whatever okay? We call it an imitating machine. It’s a herdmen language and people must understand it. Back to business, Ty and Kelly you guys are going to make a large cloth float in the air by use of ferns. Stephan will be performing with my reflection so, when I disappear it will look as if your plan didn’t work and you couldn’t disappear. Vince you are also not getting arrested you just have to stay here with me. Let’s go and do this. This is going to be the most famous performance ever and people are going to love it. When the police get you guys, Vince will release the money and cards written thank you for watching with our faces on them. You know, we are supposed to be crowd pleasers. I am going to give you the book, read page 58 and you will know what to do when you get arrested.” Said Percy. They started applauding and nodding their heads in agreement.
The herdmen did the performance as planned and Percy disappeared, and the other four were caught. The police came and cleared all the people who were present by sending them home while the others were putting the four herdmen in cuffs. People refused to go home and one of them started chanting, “We will stand by the herdmen!” The rest of the people also joined her. She was a 40-year-old mother. The police lost control of the people. The herdmen were led to the police car and the people did not notice this since they were trying to wrestle with the police and the car quickly drove away. The disappearance of Percy was the most shocking thing that ever happened and it was surprising. The police at Slenview police station were sitting in a room watching the news. BREAKING NEWS: One of the herdmen known as Reviver mysteriously disappeared on the show. “Wow, now she disappeared after tricking us. I’m still struggling to understand these people. What are they doing exactly? Is their magic real or not? Well, we still didn’t get Vince. We only have Stephan and the other three. Let’s go and get the truth out of them.” Said Huntler. “Let’s do this. I think we should start with the one who is called Robin Hood.” Said Fanon. “I think so too. Let’s start with him. What could possibly go wrong?” Said Detective Tom. Fanon and Huntler went to question him in the interrogation room. “Okay, we heard you are an illusionist who is also a mentalist.” Said Fanon.
