There is an accident in a laboratory in a school building. The explosion causes unknown chemicals to leak and spread to people and plants, resulting in mutations. The ivy growing on the outside walls of the school even attacks people. A group of pupils are unaware of this and enter the school. When the group is inside the school, strange things start to happen. Again and again the lights go out, then people are attacked and killed by an unknown figure. The ivy is now blocking the exits so that the pupils can no longer leave the school. Nerves are frayed, the group gets smaller and smaller and then splits up. In the end, mistrust develops between the pupils, suspicions are voiced and there are even physical altercations between the pupils.
1. the explosion
It is night, the rain is falling on the deserted schoolyard.
The school building has a courtyard and is fenced in. The school is not empty, there is a chemistry laboratory in the basement of the building. Some experiments are still being carried out there. Suddenly, a loud explosion is heard and 18-year-old student Peter is standing in the lab, coughing. He can no longer see anything because the smoke and fumes have spread throughout the laboratory.
Smoke billows out of a door slit and drifts into the hallway.
The lighting starts to flicker.
Suddenly Peter hears a loud roar, then stamping footsteps coming towards him. He can only make out the outline of a two and a half meter tall figure approaching him. Peter is overcome with fear and runs out of the lab into the corridor.
Panicked, the young man runs along the corridor, turning around again and again as the figure pursues him. He rattles the door leading to the stairwell but it is stuck. Now he runs to the elevator and nervously presses the button.
PETER
Come on! Come on!
Meanwhile, next to the school building, on the sports field, is a group of adult students. They pack up their sports kit, leave the sports field, walk to the main building and enter through the main entrance.
The group consists of the students Andy, Sara, Tim, Michael, Kara and Leonie.
They walk leisurely along the corridor. Suddenly the elevator doors open. They look inside, but it is empty, just a red puddle on the floor and red marks on the buttons. They look at each other, puzzled. The elevator doors close again and the elevator goes down to the basement. ANDY pulls his cell phone out of his pocket.
ANDY
That looked like blood to me, I'd better dial 911.
He looks at his cell phone.
ANDY
Shit, no net!
What's your situation?
He puts his cell phone back in his pocket and looks at the group. The others now take out their cell phones and look at them too.
MICHAEL
No net!
Now there is another loud roar from the basement.
