The Interview

Zara was nervous as she waited for her turn to be interviewed for the job of a journalist at the Daily News. She had always dreamed of working for a reputable newspaper, and this was her chance to prove herself. She checked her resume and portfolio one last time, hoping that would impress the editor.

She looked around the waiting room and saw a few other candidates, some of whom looked more confident and experienced than her. She felt a pang of insecurity and wondered if she had what it took to stand out from the crowd. She tried to calm herself down by taking deep breaths and reminding herself of her achievements and skills.

She noticed a young man sitting across from her, who was also holding a folder with his documents. He had dark hair, blue eyes, and a friendly smile. He caught her gaze and nodded at her, as if to say hello. Zara smiled, feeling a bit more relaxed. He looked like a nice person, someone who would be easy to talk to.

She wondered what his name was and what position he was applying for. She decided to strike up a conversation with him, hoping to ease her nerves and maybe make a new friend.

"Hi, I'm Zara. I'm here for the journalist position. What about you?" Zara asked him.

"Hi, Zara. I'm Henry. I'm also here for the journalist position. Nice to meet you," Henry said.

"Nice to meet you too, Henry. How are you feeling about the interview?" Zara asked.

"I'm feeling pretty good, actually. I've done some research on the newspaper and the editor, and I think I have a good chance of getting the job. How about you?" Henry asked.

"I'm feeling nervous, to be honest. I don't have much experience in journalism, and I am afraid whether I will be able to impress the editor or not. This is my dream job, and I don't want to mess it up," Zara said.

"Don't worry, Zara. You have nothing to be afraid of. You have a great resume and portfolio, and I'm sure you have a lot of talent and passion for journalism. Just believe yourself and show them what you can do. You'll do great," Henry said.

"Thank you, Henry. That's very kind of you to say. You're very sweet," Zara said.

He blushed and smiled. "You're welcome, Zara. You're very nice too."

They continued to chat for a while, finding out more about each other's backgrounds, interests, and goals. They discovered that they had a lot in common, and they enjoyed each other's company. They felt a connection, a spark, between them.

They were interrupted by the receptionist, who called out their names.

"Zara Khan and Henry Lee, please follow me. The editor is ready to see you now," she said.
