The Vampire Hunter
It is another cold and grey day in a humungous concrete jungle, which civilized man calls a „city“, but I ascertain, that a „city“ is just a pit hole, a huge mess of many tragedies, that even the most sensitive, cannot really grasp. For me, though this day is a special day, for I have finally found, what I am looking for and have been tracking down for a long time. I don’t know for how many years, because I don’t keep track of what exactly, but I know, that my reward will be great and the council is waiting for me to accomplish my mission.
Until now I have bickered with the hardest hardships, which man can face and I am not wanting to let down the council. Justice will have to be done and I am a hunter, who has sworn allegiance tot he council, which has been loyal to me ever since I am, what I am. Too long this vampire has broken the rules and now he will be put to justice by me. Luckily I can smell their scent and am blessed with a lot of experience.
Why this is so, you might ask now? Well, that is my secret, that I will reveal to you at the end of my story. This story is a bit out of the ordinary compared to my other experiences, that I have made as a hunter. Normally it is easy and not such a hard task to find a vampire, who has committed crimes against the council and its rules. These sort of vampires are renegades, outcasts and they are mostly alone, and therefore quite easy to hunt and defeat, but this one is not, because this one is a very old and strong one, who has a high rank and a whole coven on its side. And I must admit, that this vampire is the first vampire lord, who I am hunting. I don’t even know at times, if I am worthy of this job, because I don’t know if I am capable of defeating such a strong opponent, who has hundreds of vampires on his side.
This is probably why I have been studying him for so long, waiting until he goes somewhere, where he is not well protected, but even then, he is surely a big challenge, because he has been around for a very long time, and if I say very long, I normally mean it. So now I am here waiting for this lord to go out and I hope, that my informant has lured him successfully out of his coven!
By the way, I believe in the true light, although I myself am a vampire because I have seen it and the true light of God has given me so much grace throughout the ages! Why should a vampire like me not be able to believe? I know, that some will judge me for saying this, but who is there to judge me? Only God can judge and not you mere mortals! But let me carry on with the story, which is about to become exciting, because I never thought, that this day would be a real showdown and I did not expect, the things, which would happen! So now I will tell, what occurred, when I was walking down the street with a lot of sun cream on my face and a good tight jacket, protecting me from the light of the sun. I was heading for a café, where my contact wanted to meet up with me. He had just called me, quite concerned about the latest happenings and he was convinced, that this vampire lord called Rufus, would be at a theatre around 6 to 7 p.m.
As I was strolling towards the café I noticed, that someone was following me, at first I thought, that I might already be suffering from some sort of paranoia, which I could have gotten, in retrospective to all the experiences, that I had had the last 10 to 20 years, I took it into account, but then my senses, which are usually very sharp, told me, that there were vampires out there watching me. At that time I didn’t know, what was going, but I was already sure, that at least 3 or four vampires were on my tail, and they were not council vampires, because these had another sort of scent and aura.
