About the author

Thomas Gast was born in 1961. At the age of 23 he joined the French Foreign Legion, his “school of life.” His first two years were with the 3rd Infantry Regiment in French Guyana, he then served seventeen years, attaining the rank of Adjutant, in the elite 2nd Parachute Regiment (the only airborne unit in the French Foreign Legion), based on the island of Corsica. During this time, he was involved in a wide variety of overseas tours and theatres of operation. This vast experience inspired him to tell his stunning stories about this mysterious guild. In 2002 he moved to Germany, where he worked as a picture and sound engineer at the ´Theater am Neunerplatz` in Würzburg. He is currently working on his latest novel.

Do you have to speak French?

NO!

Knowledge of the French language is not a requirement

during the selection process.

My experience has shown that the average candidate will

be able to understand the language after only two months,

and that he will be conversing with others after about five

months.

After a year he dreams in French.

Of course, there is a lot of work to be done to learn it.

Three essential methods and techniques help aid in the

learning process.

1 – The Method Képi Blanc

As the applied teaching method.

2 – Multiple lessons

In the classroom, and during everyday activities.

3 – Own language exclusion
