Preface

This is a complication of curiosity, joy, sorrow, passions, tragedy, and adventure !! this is a beauty of an extraordinary pilgrimage of 101 days

The first time Mattia determined a trip to eastern Indonesia on a motorcycle, he set no goal. Rented a motorcycle and started his trip in 2009, the island offered unlimited taste and scenery, he spent almost half of his time on this ‘flower’ island, 101 days.

We add quotes of famous litterateurs from Indonesia and some of the proverbs originally from Flores, and folklore about some of the most amazing places created by nature that have interesting stories and history to tell, importantly we want to spread adventurous feelings not only led by the road but the purest heart of Flores people when you receive the smile through their eyes you realize your compass is working.

‘for me, 101 means infinity, because that’s the impression that I got from 101 days’ says Mattia and we hope you all get the feeling then set your own journey.

Why 101 in 3 parts?

Kekuatan berimajinasi membuat kita tak terbatas, halaman disusun dengan tujuan membimbing anda untuk melakukan perjalanan dari dua arah, dari paling barat atau dari paling timur ataupun sebaliknya seperti halnya judul buku “101” adalah kata palindrom.

Kami telah memutuskan untuk membagi buku ini menjadi 3 bagian, satu bagian mengenai barat, satu bagian tengah, dan lainnya mengenai timur.

The power of imagination makes us infinite, page arranged with the aim of guiding you to travel from two directions, from the westernmost to the easternmost or vice versa, as the title of book “101” is a palindrome, infinity!!

As someone who is ‘new’ to step in Flores, this western area has enough things to tempt me to stay. Traditions, islands, underwater world, waterfalls, lakes and certainly the Komodo dragons. This is not just traveling for me this is an important part of my life journey, the hospitality and openness of the people here teach me to survive and also exchange my experiences.
