Abandonment

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you;

he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

The Lord loves it when he sees us walking in his justice.

He will never desert his devoted lovers;

They will be kept forever in his faithful care.

God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

So we can say with confidence,

“The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear.”

What should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship. Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.

ROMANS 12:1–2 TPT

Father, knowing that you see to the core of my heart is at times wonderful and at others frightening. I desire that you make my heart your home, yet sometimes I feel I have invited you into a dirty house. My sin ruins the appearance of a soul that desires so desperately to please you but falls short.
