God’s love goes infinitely beyond anything you can fathom. You have been adopted into his family, and you are safe in his care. He delights in seeing you walk in truth. Each small step of faith brings him great joy. He created you for relationship with him, and he loves to hear your voice, your laughter, and your thoughts.
As you meditate on these Scriptures, devotions, and prayers, believe that God is also thinking about you. He is not disappointed in you. Nothing about your life is insignificant to him. Ask him to reveal his heart to you and then receive the kindness he so graciously offers. You are on his mind. And he is smiling.
The LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
PSALM 149:4 NIV
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
PSALM 139:14 NIV
We were created with intention and thoughtfulness by a loving maker. God took his time crafting our personalities, quirks, and preferences. He relishes his creation! Instead of letting comparison steal our confidence, we should focus on what God says about us. His opinion is what matters most.
God’s fingerprints are everywhere, yet you are his greatest masterpiece. There is nothing in creation that God delights in more than you! His affection for you is greater than you can understand. He is not disappointed by you and does not regret creating you. You have a unique and particular purpose in this world. Thank God today for making you just the way you are, for he does not make a single mistake!
My Creator, thank you for making me in your image and thoughtfully knitting me together. Shine the light of your love on me.
Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.
ECCLESIASTES 9:7 ESV
Every child wants to feel the approval of their parents; even as adults, we still long for acceptance. It’s common to look at God as though he is constantly disappointed with us. We fear that he is bothered by our actions and let down by our poor choices. In reality, God cares more about our hearts than he does about the little rules we follow. While it is good to live in a way that is pleasing to him, there is no need to be enslaved to a list of requirements.
When you have followed God for a long time, certain behaviors can become almost synonymous with your faith. As a Christian, you must carefully dance your way through the balance of living to honor him and knowing that your actions don’t validate your salvation. The key to this dance is having confidence in God’s consistent approval of you. There is nothing you can do to lessen his acceptance of you.
Gracious Father, remind me of the power of your love. Please help me grow in confidence. I want to trust that you approve of me. Liberate me to walk in courage and delight in what you have for me today.
The Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.
PSALM 147:11 NLT
When unforeseen circumstances arise, trusting God’s faithfulness may feel challenging. It isn’t easy to put our hope in something we cannot see. Yet, the more we depend on the strength of God’s love, the more we will experience his delight. Truthfully, there is nothing else worth putting our hope in. Any other person, circumstance, or sense of security will prove unreliable compared to God’s love.
Scripture is full of references to God’s great love. You can saturate your mind with God’s Word when you need a reminder. It assures you that God’s love is perfect, strong, and unchanging. Meditate on the truth of God’s love today. Let it fill your heart with hope and be your anchor when life is too much to bear. Lean wholeheartedly on the fact that his love will carry you through.
Lord, you delight in those who put their trust in you. When my faith is tested by the trials of this life, help me find security in your unfailing love.
By faith we understand that the world has been created by the word of God so that what is seen has not been made out of things that are visible.
HEBREWS 11:3 NASB
As the Creator, God has left his imprint on the world. He set everything in motion initially, and his unfailing love is woven through creation in marvelous ways. When we notice the beauty of nature, we can learn new aspects of God’s delight in us. Mysteries of God are revealed when we pay attention to the work of his hands.
Consider the expanse of the sky and the sea, and you will see God’s greatness. If you take time to stargaze on a clear night, you will see God’s beauty. Observe ecosystems and weather patterns, and you’ll see God’s intentionality and love of order. You will find so much to marvel at when you take your cues from creation. Let the awe you experience draw you closer to the Creator.
Dear Creator, I often take for granted the natural world around me. Please open my eyes to see all you have done. I want to know you more!
His love broke open the way, and he brought me into a beautiful, broad place. He rescued me—because his delight is in me!
PSALM 18:19 TPT
We’ve all had relationships that leave us feeling unsteady and insecure. Maybe we disappointed a loved one, or there is distance in a friendship that wasn’t there before. It can feel disconcerting to be unsure of where we stand with someone. A lack of security can make us question the validity of the relationship or even our identity as it relates to a specific person. This is never the case in our relationship with God.
You can always be assured of God’s great love. There is no need to question if you are secure in it. The power of God’s love cannot be overstated. God’s mercy and kindness are uninterrupted even when you choose your ways over his. He will gently correct you and never leave you wondering how he feels about you. Take a deep breath and rejoice, knowing you are fully loved and cared for.
Loving Father, even when I question the power of your love, its strength remains the same. Thank you for your unchanging and unfailing love.
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.
GENESIS 1:31 NKJV
God created each of us, and he is delighted we are his children. Each of us has been made in his image, reflecting something unique about his character. When we despise what he has done, we miss the enjoyment that comes from reveling in his excellent work. God doesn’t focus on our faults and flaws when he looks at us. He sees his beloved children and the work of his love.
When you accept the fullness of God’s love, you align yourself with how God sees you. It is not prideful to know that God enjoys you. You are not haughty if you are confident of his love for you. It is good and right for you to experience God’s delight in you. Let the light of his love shine on you and give you a sense of security and belonging.
Great God, the strength of your love is almost too much for me to comprehend. Help me lay down any feelings of insufficiency. Reveal your thoughts about me and help me be confident in what you say.
“If people want to brag, let them brag that they understand and know me. Let them brag that I am the Lord, and that I am kind and fair, and that I do things that are right on earth.”
JEREMIAH 9:24 NCV
God is just and fair; he does not play favorites. God is astonishingly kind and merciful. He does not seek revenge. He is not petty, nor is he impatient. He is so gentle and tender toward his people. These characteristics give God greater bragging rights than we will ever have. When we indeed observe who God is, we will quickly realize that there is no comparison between his perfection and our great weakness.
If you want something to brag about today, brag about the goodness of God! It is the only thing with true significance and eternal value in your life. Every good gift comes from him, and his kindness has no limits. When your boast is anchored to the perfection of his character, you will not be disappointed. God is worthy of all your praise.
Lord, you are better than anyone I’ve ever known. No one else compares to you, and I am in awe of all you’ve done. It’s such a gift to belong to you.
God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses.
EPHESIANS 2:4-5 CSB
Christ’s resurrection means we can be fully alive. We were never meant to be bound to sin and trapped by death. God’s mercy has set us free from bondage and given us the life for which we were intended. From the beginning, God desired us to stay in his presence, constantly experiencing his love and affection.
Scripture reminds you there is no fear in love. You have nothing to fear in God’s assessment of you. He sees you fully and constantly with eyes of mercy. You are freed from the fear of punishment. His life-giving love leads to being truly alive no matter where you are or what you are experiencing.
Jesus, thank you for the freedom and life you offer me. It is more than I could ever ask for or imagine. A simple thank you isn’t enough! I can never repay you for your great mercy.
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.
LAMENTATIONS 3:25 NIV
God’s goodness is our anchor. We can depend on it no matter how stormy life becomes. We can rely on his character because he has proven himself trustworthy. In the face of chaos, confusion, and tragedy, we can stay steady and grounded. The Lord is a loving shepherd and gracious defender. He does not abandon us in our time of need!
God always keeps his promises. He says that he will be good to those whose hope is in him. You can rely on what he says. As you seek him, he is with you. As you trust in his plans for your life, he will keep you safe and on the right path. Lean on him, and he will be faithful to you. When doubt comes knocking, keep your eyes trained on the one who is eternally good.
Lord, you are my hope, and I rely on you for all I need. Your presence is my plentiful portion and my strength. Thank you!
May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
EPHESIANS 3:18 NLT
God’s love cannot be measured. It is greater than our minds can comprehend. It is wider, longer, higher, and deeper than anything we have ever known. Even so, God gives us glimpses of the expanse of his love. His Spirit gives us the power to understand even though our understanding is incomplete. If we stretch our imaginations to the limit, we still will not come close to grasping the fullness of his love.
Instead of measuring God’s love according to your perceptions and limitations, you can confidently remove every boundary you have created. As you unravel your expectations, you will see God’s love in places you might not have noticed before. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to give you a deeper understanding of how God sees you.
God, I want to understand the greatness of your love! Expand my awareness of your goodness and give me glimpses of your love today.
Without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
HEBREWS 11:6 ESV
Faith leads us to fellowship with the Almighty. It is through faith that we acknowledge what we cannot see. We trust God because we believe he is worthy of our praise. We believe he is who he says and will be faithful to his promises.
It’s so wonderful that to please God, you must simply trust. You don’t have to accomplish a long list of to-dos or chase traditional success. You please God because you have put your faith in him. He doesn’t care about what you do nearly as much as he cares about your heart. Let this truth bring you freedom and security today.
You are my God, and I believe in you. Open the eyes of my heart to see more of your mercy. I trust that you are pleased with my faith.
May the kindness of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.
PSALM 90:17 NASB
We can be assured of success when God is involved in our work. However, success isn’t always linear, and it is rarely immediate. We should keep this in mind as we work. How we gauge success differs from how the world gauges it. God does not promise that we will be wealthy or free from trials in this life. He promises we will have all we need, and he will be with us through everything.
Invite God into the work of your hands. Everything you do is an opportunity to further your relationship with him. Instead of getting caught up in the to-dos of your day, remember that your primary objective is to glorify God. Let him set the standard of success in your life. You’ll surely find that he will give you peace and unshakeable confidence in exchange.
Good Father, you are kind in all your ways. Thank you for your persistent presence. I commit my work to you and ask for your constant wisdom to guide me.
The Lord sees all we do; he watches over his friends day and night. His godly ones receive the answers they seek whenever they cry out to him.
PSALM 34:15 TPT
What incredible promises we can hold on to as children of the Most High! When we submit our lives to the Lord, we can trust his faithful love to cover us in all we do. He watches over us, helping us whenever we cry to him. Nothing is hidden from God’s sight. He sees every problem and knows exactly what we need to overcome it.
God’s resources are never depleted. This is true about his character as well. He never runs out of goodness to share with his children. He is patient, kind, and trustworthy. You know what it’s like to grow weary and overwhelmed. God, on the other hand, is not bound by our physical and emotional restraints. He has an abundance of kindness to offer whenever you turn to him. You can trust his faithful love to meet you where you are today.
Lord, I can trust you in everything. You do not overlook me. You see my weaknesses and my strengths. Fill me with your love as I open my heart before you.
God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us.
PSALM 67:1 NKJV
Every day is a good day to offer our hearts to the Lord. We can pray consistently, worship unhindered, and serve him wholeheartedly. As we direct our attention to him, he will bless us repeatedly. When we ask the Lord to be merciful to us, we can trust that he will do it. We can approach him confidently because it is his delight to shine upon his children.
God watches over you like a loving father. He delights in giving you good gifts that fill you with joy. Today, spend some time dwelling on the goodness of your heavenly Father. Bask in the satisfaction that comes from knowing you are fully loved. Let his presence wash over you and revive the tired or broken parts of your heart. Receive his blessings with thanksgiving and remember that every good gift comes from his hands.
Father, thank you for the wonders of your love and the mercy you have freely given me. You have blessed me beyond measure and are worthy of my praise.
You are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession. You were chosen to tell about the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 PETER 2:9 NCV
God is light, and in him, all is illuminated. He has called us out of confusion, shame, and insecurity to be rooted in the truth of who he says we are. Our value is not found in what we can offer him but in who he created us to be. We don’t have to do anything to earn his love. We can rest in the strength of his mercy.
Consider the powerful truth that God chose you to be his before the foundations of the world were created. Reflect on how that makes you feel. Your true identity is found in how God sees you. Your opinions of yourself are far less important than you may think. As you gain confidence in who God says you are, you will find that your heart, life, and perspective are transformed.
God, thank you for choosing me to be in your family. Reassure me of your love for me. I want to trust what you say about me.
Everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities— all things have been created through him and for him.
COLOSSIANS 1:16 CSB
When we realize that all things were created through God and for God, we can be more prepared to participate in the delights of this life. We don’t have to trudge through the responsibilities of our day. We were made to live, not just to survive. We were made to feast in times of abundance and to celebrate in times of joy! Let’s not neglect the power of delight to refresh our hearts and draw us closer to our Creator.
There are so many inescapable trials and sorrows in this life. Relishing the simple joys of your day does not diminish the validity of your frustrations. Delight can refresh your heart and strengthen your resilience. Don’t neglect the practice of gratitude or stop noticing little glimmers of hope. Recognize the invitation to praise God for all the goodness you find amidst the messiness of life.
My Creator, thank you for the reminder that life is not meant to be all drudgery. You are so creative in your expressions throughout creation, and I delight in the simple joys I already have at my fingertips.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
JEREMIAH 29:11 NIV
Life isn’t easy, to be sure. It’s not all blooming fields, lush pastures, and sunny days. There are challenging seasons, raging storms, and unforeseen obstacles. Still, God is with us through it all. Nothing surprises him. The power of today’s verse rings true even on our darkest days. As we follow him, he will provide everything we need for each varying season.
No matter what disappointments you have experienced, you can be sure that God’s plans for you are full of life-giving hope. There is always more ahead. His mercies bring fresh starts, and his grace offers renewed strength. Whatever you need, you can rest in the confidence of God’s provision. There is nothing for which he doesn’t account. You can trust him in every season!
Faithful One, help me trust your plans more than my own. I take comfort in the fact that nothing surprises you.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.
PSALM 33:11 ESV
God is constant and unwavering. His wisdom does not change over time. Everything about him is precisely the same as it has always been. He is the definition of perfection and the embodiment of reliability. No matter how wild and unpredictable the world seems, God is steady. Governments rise and fall. Natural disasters change the face of the earth, and we experience varying seasons in our own lives. Through it all, God is the same.
When everything in your world feels shaken, God is steady. When you don’t know which way is up or how to move forward, God is secure. When you feel like you might be overcome by the darkness or lost in the storm, lean into the shelter of his presence. He never changes, and his counsel is always reliable. He is your rock and your safe place.
God, thank you for being so steady. It’s a relief to know that your counsel will stand forever. I trust in your plans because everything you do is good.
God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
ROMANS 8:28 NLT
We are under his care and leadership when we yield our lives to Christ. This isn’t an excuse to do whatever we want without considering the consequences. Being under his leadership means we can confidently walk through our days knowing he is always with us. We can be sure of God’s gracious strength to help us rebuild or repair when we stumble. Even our most significant failures aren’t intimidating with God on our side.
God is at work in the details of your life. Not everything you experience seems good, but God does not waste any moment of your life. He restores the broken things beyond your ability to mend them. He sows his mercy and grace into every fiber of your being. If you find yourself in need of drastic help, don’t be dismayed! God will weave his love through every vulnerable area. You can trust him.
Gracious God, give me eyes to see where your mercy is at work in the rubble. My life is imperfect, but your love constantly teaches me. Thank you.
“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.”
MATTHEW 6:33 NASB
If we want to live in the fullness of all God has planned for us, we must seek him first. When we seek the kingdom of God, we put our relationship with him at the forefront of our lives. We adopt God’s character and values and let him transform our lives. To do this, we have to know what God is really like. We can find the truth of God’s nature within the faithfulness of his character and in his Word.
Responsibilities in life cannot be ignored. Your relationships and commitments require attention and effort. God is aware of your schedule and knows what you must accomplish each day. Seeking him is not just one more thing to add to your list. Instead, let his presence be woven into your day. Lean on him and trust that he will lead you well.
God, I choose to seek you and your values first. The details of my life will come together as I walk in your wisdom. I look to you today, and I trust your faithfulness.
“I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”
JOB 42:2 NKJV
There is nothing that God can’t do. His ability is beyond our understanding. With this in mind, let’s not withhold a single prayer or request from him. We can be assured that he hears us. He cares about the things we care about. This does not mean every prayer will be answered as expected, but God’s faithfulness is unwavering.
Is there something you have kept hidden in your heart, not even sharing with your closest friends? Perhaps you can take it to God today. He will understand even when no one else does. He sees you; he knows you, and he tends to you. Ask him what he thinks and take time to listen. You may be surprised by the kindness of his answer.
Father, you are trustworthy and true. In vulnerability, I bring my hopes to you. Please speak to me and give me grace to listen.
Every single moment you are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that you cherish me constantly in your every thought!
PSALM 139:17 TPT
There isn’t one moment when we are hidden from God. He is thinking about his children every single second. What a wonderful mystery! Our heavenly Father thinks of each of us at the same time. He thoughtfully cares for us even more attentively than the perfect parent. He cherishes each of us and is delighted by who he created us to be.
You don’t have to do anything to earn your Father’s attention or affection. You already have it! With that powerful truth emboldening your heart, you are free to live abundantly as his child. Let his great love impact every area of your life and give you confidence in your true identity. God is with you every single moment of your life.
Father, I cannot begin to comprehend the power of your affection. Still, I’m so glad I have it! Shine on me today. Encourage my heart with hope as I live in the light of your love.
You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.
PSALM 86:15 NKJV
On difficult days with no silver lining, God’s fullness is still present. Our emotions don’t dictate God’s nature. This is wonderful news! Our foul moods and pessimistic attitudes don’t change who God is. When we are hard-pressed to find beauty in challenging circumstances, his beauty remains. God is full of patience, abundant mercy, and wise truth, no matter what hardships we face or the complexity of our emotional reactions to them.
What do you need from God today? Perhaps you need a dose of compassion. He’s got it! Maybe you need grace to strengthen you to accomplish what you need to do. He’s got that, too! Whatever you require, God’s fullness is ready to meet you right where you are. Today, remember that he is always available and able to help you.
Merciful God, thank you for your unchanging nature. Your wisdom and faithfulness are unending. Please fill me up with the power of your presence today.
“I loved you as the Father loved me. Now remain in my love.”
JOHN 15:9 NCV
Everything Jesus did on Earth reflected the Father. They are in perfect alignment in thought, word, and deed. If we want to know more about the Father, we simply need to look at Jesus. When we see him, we see God. As such, we can be sure that the way Christ loved others is the same way God loves. We are called to remain in that steady love.
What does it mean to remain in God’s love? On a practical level, it means staying in communion with God and honoring his instructions. You can display your love for him by listening to what he says and seeking to remain in his presence. You can worship, thank him for all he’s done, and actively live in a way that honors him. Find true satisfaction in his presence and rejoice in his good work. Let him shower you with affection and fill your heart with his love.
Lord, thank you for the power of your love. I choose to follow you for all my days. May your love motivate everything I do. Thank you for the acceptance and satisfaction I find in your presence.
Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1 JOHN 4:7 CSB
It is easy to say we love each other. The words aren’t difficult to say, and they feel nice to hear. It is another thing entirely to align our actions with those words. It can be challenging to love consistently in our day-to-day interactions. Scripture tells us that love is patient and kind. It does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant or rude to others. It does not promote its own ways above others, and it rejoices in the truth. It does not harbor resentment, nor does it easily get riled up.
Consider what God’s love looks like and let that impact the way you treat others. Scripture gives you a clear picture of how to do this. It is not complicated, though it certainly isn’t easy. The good news is that the Holy Spirit can empower you to love like God loves. As you follow him and mature in your understanding of God’s great love, it will surely overflow to those around you.
God, I want to love the people around me the way you love me. I know I won’t do it perfectly, but I can still choose to be more like you in my relationships. Show me the way and help me honor you.
You have experienced the extravagant grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was infinitely rich, he impoverished himself for our sake, so that by his poverty, we become rich beyond measure.
2 CORINTHIANS 8:9 TPT
God held nothing back in order to bring us to himself. He sent his Son to embrace humanity so we can know what the Father is really like. Jesus Christ broke down every barrier that was standing between us and God. We are rich because he chose to become poor. We can have an abundant life because of the power of his resurrection.
Jesus loves you extravagantly and showers you with unending grace. His love is not exclusive or bound by limitations. Christ’s love is abundant and unhindered. He intentionally sacrificed himself, knowing the suffering he would experience, so that you could experience the goodness of God. As you meditate on this today, let it lead you to deeper fellowship with your Maker.
Faithful One, thank you for the power of your grace and your extravagant love. Give me a greater understanding of what you’ve done for me.
He has saved us and called us to a holy life— not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.
2 TIMOTHY 1:9 NIV
What does it mean to live a holy life? God is perfect and holy. Mercy and justice compel him. He is faithful in truth and patient in kindness. He leads with peace and gives abundant grace. Whatever we need is found in him. Holiness is not a stringent list of things to do or behaviors to resist. Rather, it is the effort to reflect the nature of our God.
You are a child of God. You cannot earn your way into his kingdom. The only way in is to accept the grace that he offers you. As you live by the freedom of his grace, you answer the call of holiness. You are worthy to be part of God’s kingdom because of what Jesus did for you. He is the one who makes you holy. Today, you can rest knowing that there is nothing you can do to strive for holiness other than depend on the grace given to you.
Lord Jesus, thank you for the grace of your salvation. I am overwhelmed by the gravity of this gift. Keep me from striving and help me rest in what you’ve already done.
By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
EPHESIANS 2:8-9 ESV
God’s gift of grace is free. It is given unreservedly to all who choose to receive it. It is an abundant offering to everyone. We don’t get to decide who is worthy and who isn’t. God’s grace is the great equalizer. There is no one who deserves an extra portion, and no one is excluded from the deal. We have all fallen short and are all in desperate need of grace.
God is incredibly generous and has an abundance of grace. He does not withhold it from you and does not wait for you to improve yourself before you can receive it. There is nothing you can do to obtain more than you’ve already been given. The exact portion you need is always available. None of your good deeds are part of the equation. All you can do is humbly accept God’s gift.
God, I celebrate your generosity! Thank you for the gift of grace. Help me remain humble and aware of my weaknesses. I don’t want to take advantage of the grace you’ve given me.
Let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
HEBREWS 4:16 NLT
We all have relationships that are more comfortable than others. We have people who get a more guarded version of ourselves, and we have people we share with freely. We don’t wonder what they’ll think about us because we trust the strength of the relationship. We’re not worried about offending them, and we don’t need to walk on eggshells. In the same way, we can approach God without worry or fear. We don’t have to tiptoe through our relationship with him.
