Chapter 1
Deby was so worn out; it had been a drawn out day. Her back and feet were fighting uproariously and her head throbbed.
The Chinook Diner was completely filled with travelers, boisterous and uninformed sightseers wearing their cameras around their lily-white necks like prizes. Deby had been a server at the cafe for three years at this point. The work was consistent, the compensation was poo and the clients were suggestive of creatures eating in a zoo, yet it was a task.
Summer was generally the most awful season in Orofino; vacationers would rush from wherever to visit the Crystalwater National Forest.
"More espresso Ma'am?" Deby asked as she stood drifting at the edge of the table with the steaming espresso pot in her grasp.
"No doubt, no difference either way. Much obliged to you darling," the lady droned at Deby.
As she painstakingly poured the lady's espresso Deby felt something hit her face.
"Ha, ha got you great!" a little voice screeched.
"Truly, do I seem to be a human objective?" Deby went to see a young man of around seven years of age giggling and jabbing his finger toward her, he was sitting with his folks.
The low flying hostile article was an innocuous french fry, however the ketchup it wasn't as innocuous to cover the said french fry. Deby could feel the red tacky sauce winding its direction down her face. She realized what she might want to tell his folks yet the client was generally right, as her manager generally said, she grinned pleasantly while the guardians apologized bountifully. Deby advanced toward the kitchen.
