Chapter 1

When extraterrestrial energy beams descended from the sky, Captain Jackson and his team dove for safety. Screams could be heard all around them as individuals were instantly incinerated.

Above the booms, Jackson said, "Keep going! We have to get to that building.

The team ran with their hearts racing from dread and adrenaline towards a neighboring tower. They broke past the doors and swiftly assessed their predicament.

Jackson searched the room for anything they might use, saying, "We have to locate some weaponry, anything that can knock down those ships."

A corner debris pile was pointed out by one of the team members. Maybe that bright object over there is a rifle or something, I spotted it.

Jackson indicated for the others to follow him by nodding. They heard a huge bang coming from outside as they moved across the room.

In his breath, Jackson said, "They're getting closer." We don't have a lot of time.

They eventually arrived at the debris pile and started digging through it. And they discovered what they were seeking there, buried behind the wreckage.

A box containing cutting-edge equipment and technology that was unheard of in their experience.

Jackson exhaled, "Jackpot," with a glimmer of optimism in his eyes.

But when he turned to address his group, he saw activity outside. When they approached their location, the aliens started swarming the structure.

Jackson encouraged, pulling one of the weapons from the container, "We have to act quickly. "This is the only time"

With that, they stormed out of the structure and opened fire on the oncoming foe. Even though the war was far from finished, they suddenly had a chance.
