PROLOGUE

Astrid Grandville, a bride and wife, is thrilled to announce her life began today as Mrs. Collin Poole. She loves her husband, Arthur Poole, for his intelligence, fairness, knowledge of the world, quick laugh, and dedication to his family and business. Today is a holiday in Poole's Bay, where they make their home and fill their home with children born of love.

Arabelle, Astrid's friend, asks if she is nervous as she comes to the marriage bed as a maid. Astrid is eager to know what lies beyond the kisses and passions that rouse her passions. She sees the sparkle of the ring he gave her when he asked for her hand, and the promise that she will never love another, but love him through all of her life and even after death takes her.

After a moment of quiet contemplation, Astrid returns to the music, dancing, and celebration Collin insisted on to mark this day. She embraces his family as her own and celebrates the first day of the long and happy life they will make together.

Astrid is attacked by her mother, who tells her she will never have him and that a marriage isn't a marriage until it is consummated. She leaves her dying on the floor near the marriage bed, but her ring remains with her.

In agony, Astrid staggers to the door, desperately seeking Collin and her ring. She hears the sound of someone screaming, but the sound comes from another world. He rushes to her, calling her name and catching her in his arms. As she speaks her last words, she gives him her promise: "I never will." And she has not.

CHAPTER ONE

Sonya, a graphic designer, decided to ditch the crazy circus of planning a wedding and have a backyard, simple ceremony. However, her partner Brandon wanted all the fancy and formal details. They booked a fancy Back Bay hotel, designed their invitations, and spent time with a photographer for engagement photos. The wedding cake was a nightmare, and she couldn't wait until it was over.

As the buts began to come in, Sonya realized that her wedding day wasn't her special day, and that Brandon had all the say. She worried about their differing visions and wishes, but remembered the last 18 months of being a couple and decided to make it a home. She canceled an appointment with the florist and headed home to have a couple of quiet hours until he got home.

She decided to order the invitations and be done with it, as he had hired a calligrapher to address them. She pushed through Boston's Saturday traffic with the windows down and the music up, hoping that the color would have exploded with fall. She was twenty-eight, closing in fast on twenty-nine and the end of another decade. She was ready to settle down, start a family, and marry her love, Brandon Wise.

By the time she parked, she regretted canceling the appointment with the florist and decided to make up for it by eating together for dinner. She hoped that a big check mark in the done column would lift a weight, allowing them to spend Saturday night naked in bed.

Tracie hears music in the foyer and sees a woman's shoe and a white, full-skirted, strapless dress in the living room. She kicks Brandon's shirt and trousers out of the way, thinking that love could snuff out like a candle in a stiff breeze. She watches her fiancé's ass grind as he thrusts into the woman under him, leaving no trace. Tracie tries to drag the dress off the floor, but Brandon insists on getting out of his house. He dragged on khakis and asked her to call the police.

Tracie complied, but Brandon refused. She grabbed her phone and called the police to remove her from his home. She slammed the door behind him, turning the security bolt.

Tracie waited for the tears, despair, and misery to burn through the rage. She called for help, but Brandon refused. She called for help, and they agreed to fix the wedding crisis. Sonya thought about fixing the phone and set it down. The story highlights the dangers of love and the consequences of not speaking up when it's not necessary.

Sonya, a woman who is in love with Cleo Fabares, is incensed by the rumors of her fiancé's wedding. She accuses him of lying and cheating, and Sonya is upset that she has to cancel everything for her wedding. Cleo offers to help Sonya cancel everything, including the hotel, photographer, videographer, cake, flowers, string quartet, and band. Sonya is frustrated and wants to use her great-grandfather Harurto's samurai sword to kick Brandon in the balls.

Cleo agrees to help Sonya cancel everything, but Sonya is still upset about the loss of deposits. She suggests that they keep the design and curse it, bury it under a full moon, and have him get a chronic case of jock itch. Sonya agrees to help with the cancellations and plans to spend the night with Cleo, who will stay with her whenever her best friend, college roomie, partner in crime, and sister of the heart finds her fiancé in bed with her cousin.

Sonya feels tears stinging her eyes for the first time, but she is grateful for Cleo's support. She admits that dealing with all this makes her want to crawl in a hole, but she also wishes she had those combat boots. Cleo's tiger eyes flash as she tells Sonya that a knee in the balls works, but she doesn't wish she had those boots.

CHAPTER TWO

Sonya's mother, Winter, arrives at her daughter's door and apologizes for the incident. She reassures her that Summer, who has been involved in the riot, is not responsible for the incident. Winter assures Sonya that Summer is an adult slut and that she will strip the sheets off her bed and donate them. She expresses her anger and frustration with Summer for not seeing the incident.

Sonya agrees to change the locks and take the boxes from the liquor store to pack up his belongings. Winter suggests that they could bury a pair of his boxers under a full moon and curse him with chronic jock itch. They pack up Sonya's belongings, including his tablets, laptop, Alexa, watches, cuff links, and shoes.

Sonya remembers his luggage, which includes shirts, jackets, sweaters, suits, and sportswear. Winter and Cleo discuss the best way to deal with the situation and the potential consequences of their actions. They decide to let the situation go and focus on their relationship and their relationship.

Sonya and Cleo are preparing to move into a new apartment after a previous relationship ended. They are unsure of what to do with the items they have, but Sonya decides to take any unopened items and decides to split the remaining items. Winter, who has a deep green hair, helps Sonya pull her chin-length hair back in a stubby tail. They decide to use trash bags to organize their belongings.

Cleo compliments Sonya on her skin and hair, mentioning her heritage and the fact that her daughter has her father's eyes. Winter reassures Sonya that she is lucky to have been roommates in college and that her art and work didn't hurt. She also reminds her daughter that she should not let her past relationship with her husband shake her identity or work.

During their meal, Sonya and Cleo discuss their plans and decide to move into the apartment. On the second trip, her neighbor, Bill, offers to help with the move. Sonya is grateful for her neighbor's help and considers them a nice couple, neighborly but not pushy. They decide to move into the duplex together, focusing on their shared qualities.

Bill and Sonya are discussing their relationship, with Bill mentioning that he is moving out on them. Sonya, on the other hand, is preparing to boot Brandon out of the house and find him naked in bed with her cousin Tracie. Donna, Sonya's wife, reveals that she has seen her twice before, and they are clearing out his stuff. Sonya is going to white sage the entire place and get tested, and she plans to dump Brandon's things at Jerry's.

Winter, Sonya's mother, and Winter, Sonya's friends, plan to make calls to Brandon and Sonya to discuss their situation. Sonya is feeling powerful and detached, and she decides to take the spare key and wedding binder with her to cancel what they couldn't reach on a Sunday. She plans to call for advice on how to handle the dress and other alterations, and she plans to take Sonya for a weekend, including a spa weekend and a girls' trip instead of a honeymoon.

Sonya is ready to go kick balls, but she is not ready to go in combat boots. They will work together to find a solution to their situation and make amends.

Sonya, a graphic designer, decided to speak with the co-owners of By Design, a small privately owned company, after canceling her wedding and realizing she and Brandon weren't suited for marriage. She requested that they not be assigned to the same project for the next few months, as they had climbed up the ranks and had their own offices. Brandon specialized in advertising and had nearly ten years of experience. Sonya worked at By Design for seven years and had a reputation for creating digital art, logos, business cards, letterheads, websites, and digital signs.

However, she also designed visuals for companies and individuals, creating looks in logos, business cards, letterheads, websites, and physical and digital signs. She would maintain a courteous, professional relationship with Brandon in the workplace, but she would handle gossip and take the blame for their differences.

Sonya moved up to the Nesting Area, where she worked on assignments and assisted designers. She created a physical and digital mood board for a project, Baby Mine, a start-up company that created handmade baby clothes for preemies. The logo and website visuals followed the company's tone, and social media posts increased the visuals.

Sonya began working on the finishing touches for Baby Mine, which she would rather focus on her personal business than dealing with her bosses.

Sonya, a designer, visits the second floor of her office, which includes the directors' offices, presentation room, owners' offices, and a break room. She is greeted by Laine Cohen, who has hired her and her partner Brandon. They are both working on their projects, but Sonya is concerned about the stress of planning a wedding. Brandon called her last night and expressed his concern about the stress of the process.

Laine assures her that she will handle the situation professionally in the workplace. She also offers to help with the details of the wedding and work on her own project. However, she is surprised when she learns that Brandon is in bed with his cousin.

Laine offers to provide Sonya with help with the details and offers to help her handle the situation. She decides to get to work and finds Brandon waiting between the office and the stairs. He asks her to talk, but she refuses, stating that he prefers to keep his personal business private.

Blandon tells her that he told him she called off the wedding. The conversation ends with Sonya feeling relieved and ready to move on. The story highlights the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and respecting personal boundaries in the workplace.
