The biography of Vladimir Zelensky is neutral and perfect, it can be called completely typical for a Ukrainian born in the last years of the USSR. We remind you that Vladimir Alexandrovich was born on January 25, 1978 in the largest industrial center of Ukraine – the city of Krivoy Rog, Dnipropetrovsk region, in an intelligent family.
The father of our character, Alexander Semenovich Zelensky, is also a man with a name in his environment: a doctor of technical sciences, a professor, a mathematician, a programmer who headed the department of computer science at the Krivoi Rog Economic Institute for many years, where his famous son received a diploma of law degree.
A diploma that was not useful to Vladimir until now, which is also quite typical for the generation of the “last children of the USSR”. Mom, Rimma Vladimirovna Zelenskaya is an engineer by degree. However, the circumstances were such that she had to devote a lot of time to housekeeping.
The biography of Vladimir, however, is not devoid of bright spots, for example, not every Soviet child happened to go to school in Mongolia, where at that time his father worked on the construction of a large enterprise.
After returning to his native Krivoy Rog, Volodya fit himself into a new reality, did well in the gymnasium with in-depth study of English language, was engaged in various kinds of sports (in particular, weightlifting!), Ballroom dancing, played several musical instruments, was taking part in art classes, was collecting stamps.
Vladimir's leadership and communication abilities were manifested quite early, there always were peers around him, as well as activities and events.
While still a student, KVN appeared in his life, and remained there, possibly forever. Surprisingly, at the beginning Zelensky was invited to help the “Zaporizhia-Kryvyi Rih-Transit” team not with texts or scripts, but with the production of dancing plays. But gradually his role grew horizontally and vertically, and by the time the team moved to the Higher KVN League, Vladimir was already the official captain of the team, and an informal leader.
In the period from 1997 to 2003, the team was spending most of the time in Moscow, making shows in the capital of Russia and touring over the regions. But in 2003, after a conflict with the famous Russian TV producer and TV host, the founder of the KVN movement Alexander Maslyakov, “Kvartal-95” (that’s how the team was now called) returned to the homeland, settled down in the capital, Kiev, and continued his creative rise in concert tv format.
Vladimir Zelensky is married to Elena (nee Kiyashko), who also works in Kvartal-95, as a screenwriter. The couple was together since school age, and officially married since 2003. Vladimir and Elena are raising two children – a daughter, Alexandra (15 years old) and a son, Kiril (5 years old).
Social and creative activities, team management, creation and production of film products, work on the popular TV channels "Inter" and "1 + 1" (including the role of top manager), advertising projects – the demand for Vladimir Zelensky is there till day.
