This book outlines the experience of the Christian community, which haos and crisis did not interfere from becoming the hope and the Holy Light of their city.Based on real events.
The burning of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was the European equivalent of the “911 attacks” on twin towers in New York. Lockdown has finaly destroyed our previous lives.
All of us feel the consequences of the economic crisis. In this situation, churches are closed, and many Christian communities fall apart. Not understanding what to do and not feeling like elected priests in Christ, people pray for the return of their former life before the coronavirus epidemic. But the reality is that one crisis is replaced by another, and even if the epidemic ends, something else will begin. This is the essence of the Latter-day Saints Crisis. The modern globalized world pulsates with flows of logistic highways, shines with the lights of big cities, the latest technologies and gadgets, is shaken by crises and techno-revolutions. Everything changes so quickly that confused Christians do not understand what their place is in this world. Those who sincerely wanted to start a new life, suddenly notice that they simply plunged into another subculture.Today there are many subcultures, but they all change attitudes towards life, and not life itself. Recent studies say that the real life of believing Christians very rarely differs from the life of “ordinary” people. At the same time, everyone knows -Covid change evrething and we need to do something. What does it mean to be a Christian today ??? How should our life change after baptism ??? In difficult times, Christians of all denominations know exactly why they are needed. And the modern world always remembers about them, when it is necessary to remove the consequences mistakes. Christians turned into a rag in the kitchen, forgotten except only when milk was spilled or scrambled eggs fell to the floor. But who needs Christians when the homeless are full? And where to take food to Christians to feed the huge crowds of the disadvantaged, whose number is constantly growing ??? If Christians should only donate and help others, how should they solve their problems? Or the Christians have no problems? We need to understand ourselves and find out why today Christians are dying out like dinosaurs.I did not find an answer to these questions, and I left my Church, where I was baptized at school age. I worked as a political technologist. Receiving hundreds of thousands of fees, sincerely thought that electoral assistance to new, promising political leaders could change the world for the better. My experience in political technologies has grown with my money. I bought expensive things and traveled a lot.Already after the war began in my hometown in the east of Ukraine, all the status that I earned was lost. As a refugee, I was able to rediscover the potential of Christianity. Rising to my feet and starting a new life in a new place, I was successfully engaged in business, and began to apply to the development of my new church community, the knowledge of organizational technologies used in the political sphere and the latest business processes.I had the opportunity to create a community, which is remembered not only when someone needs free help. Members of this community began to live better than others and at the same time better fulfill their mission. Just because of the embodiment of Christian doctrine in solving their problems. After that, the surrounding people were looking for opportunities to connect to our work and also become part of the Cause of God on Earth.
In eastern Ukraine, there is a big city in which I was born and lived all my life. But once began hostilities with the participation of pro-Russian militants and the Ukrainian army. So I had to load all my life into my jeep, and save myself.I wanted to leave at full speed from all the horror that began to occur. But God had other plans. I drove off a few tens of kilometers when my car was upon fired, and I was wounded. The attacking militants was just thrown me on the side of the road, and go in my car. My car, despite several hits, was on the move. Only a few hours later, I was picked up by a local from a small town nearby, who was driving past. Gunshot wound was not serious, but I could not move, and since the hospital in this city was no longer working, I was sheltered by a group of believers who prayed together and helped each other survive. At the beginning there were only twenty-four persons who simply prayed for peace. But as the fighting intensified, they were joined by almost all the residents of the street who met every evening. Before my eyes, a new Christian community was born, in which I was also lucky enough to participate.I quickly went on the mend, and after a while, remembering my church past, I was able to download Bible study lessons from the Internet. In this simple way, the spiritual formation of the Сommunity has become more systemic. We did not have a pastor with a theological education, but even the study of simple Bible lessons that I taught already took us to a new level.People had already gathered not only to pray and exchange news. They began their first conscious steps in spiritual development, better understanding whom they pray to and whom they believe. Gradually moving away from illiterate stereotypes and myths in matters of faith. After some time, the fighting in our area ceased, and the city was on the territory of the fake-fric "People's Republic", organized by pro-Russian militants. There was no legal authority. All their problems, the locals solved alone. It is very easy for people to unite in the face of obvious danger. Under fire are no atheists. But when the level of stress decreases, people begin to return to the old sinful life. This test was to pass our community. When fighting subsided, the number gathering in the evenings has fallen sharply. But at the same time, many residents of our street began to regularly attend divine services in other churches. However, very quickly they encountered in them the shortcomings that are sometimes inherent in centralized religious organizations.Corruption and the godless way of life of the church elite and indifference to the needs of the parishioners has disappointed many people. Pastors and priests came in expensive cars and called on parishioners to pray, no longer doing anything to solve problems. Sometimes in churches they distributed scanty humanitarian aid, which did not solve any problems. It was too little, and certainly, living from one dole is not lifestyle that is worthy of God's people.
But the most important thing that was depressing is the lack of radical differences in the way of life between the regular parishioners of traditional churches and ordinary people. For most of them, going to church was just a ritual they did every week. At the same time, they earned money, spent money and rested like everyone else, not standing out against the general background. Such believers were not much different from ordinary atheists.
