Los Angeles Fire Department has recently been confronted with enormous challenges and it is natural to be interested in the nature of these horrible fires and the monstrosity the heroic fire fighters battled. What is more difficult is to show the heartbreak and pain of the families that lost their homes and the horrible deaths of the civilian victims caught up in the fires. The fire was still active at the time of writing with more than 6,770 structures destroyed and 25 civilian fatalities. It has caused incredible human hardship and financial loss. Rebuilding will be difficult. It takes a year to get permits and with the Coastal Commission, which could add another two years. President Trump said 24 January 2025 after touring the area: "I don't think you can realize how rough, how devastating it is until you see it." The fire had touched at least 23,448 acres. Many structures were unfortunately uninsured due to policies not having been renewed to new conditions. Real estate agents predict that 70 pct of homeowners unfortunately will not be able to return because they were heavily underinsured and the cost of rebuilding is abt $1,000 pr sq ft. We pray for the unfortunates and honor all fire fighters and rescue workers on this 4th of July 2025 and hope you will approve of our selection of photos.
