Denver Cob is and ordinary corn farmer, who has a pretty wife named Sadie. Denver has just found out that his wife has been seeing another man right under his nose so to speak. Denver resorts to ask a friend of his that lives not far from his farm for some sound advice on how to get his problem resolved. Will Denver be about to solve his problem with his friend advice or will he lose his wife to the other man?

Ambling towards our shack, with that old red bone hound that follows him every step he makes, was Denver Cob.
“Wonder what he is up to, coming out to our place?” Pa asked, as we sat under the shade tree resting from plowing corn and hoeing out Mammy’s big garden.
“Denver Cob, what on earth brings you up to our place this morning?” Pa asked as Denver came strolling toward the shade tree.
Denver paused for a moment to catch his breath. “Well, it’s Sadie. She’s run off again, left in the night while I was snoozing. I think she is seeing Dan Woolen that lives over on the Mad Dog Ridge.” Poor Denver looked nearly defeated.
“Hellfire Denver, you have more trouble with your woman than any man I’ve ever know!” Pa chuckled.
“I guess she jumped the fence again and is up at that old Dan Woolen’s, bedding up with him,” Denver replied solemnly. “What is a man to do when he has a woman like that?” Denver asked, looking deeply into Pa’s eyes.
“Well, most men will fill their belly with moonshine and lay drunk for months at a time, but that doesn’t bring a woman back into a man’s arm,” Pa explained. “And then some men will grab a gun and go shoot the man and end up in prison for the rest of their life"
