Coat of Arms Description.

Pogoń, Lithuanian Vytis, Bialorussian Паго ́ ня (Pahonia). Poland. In a golden field, emerging from a cloud on the left edge of the shield, an armored arm with a drawn sword; Helmet decoration: the same right arm, but turned to the left and supported on the elbow. About the origin of this coat of arms it is said: In districts on the sea shore south of today's Herzogovina and Montenegro the population remained devoted to paganism until the end of the 9th century, forming their own principality, which the Romans called Pagania. According to legend, one of the princes of this country, which was under Byzantine sovereignty, vowed before a battle that if he were victorious he would become a Christian; a sword arm was then stretched out of the clouds, which was considered a good sign of troops who won victory. Von Fürst chose the arm of the sword as his country's symbol of war and coat of arms. Michal of Pagania (died 1080) threw off Byzantine suzerainty, incorporated the surrounding Slavic principalities into his empire and called himself King of Southern Serbs, a title confirmed by Pope Gregory VII. His grandson Michal, deposed from the throne, received Pagania as a substitute, from which his grandson Istok of Serbia was ousted. Istok fled to Poland in 1175, were accepted into the knighthood there, later named himself after a branch he founded, from which he gave the name Plissa (later called Pliszcza) in memory of his old ancestral home. His coat of arms were first called Pogania in Poland, from which Pogoń, Lithuanian Vytis, Bialorussian Паго́ня (Pahonia) became. But it also has the name Zdarbozec. The same lead the:

Berezko, Bielunka, Chrapkiewicz, Czarnowski, Czorb, Dziubandowski, Hauschild, Humorowski, Kamieniczny, Klajowski, Kokatorowicz, Minczer, Niedzieski, Odlaniski, Pelka, Pliskowski, Pliszka, Poczobod, Potemkin, Radamski, Replinski, Rohland, Sando, Saniewski, Sudymont, Ujejski, Wandzon, Zaluczski, Zarski, Zurawicki.

A similar coat of arms: suspended from sword arm, unclouded; as a helmet decoration a slender growing man with a raised sword in his right hand, and were presented by King Stefan to his treasurer Krzysztof Stefanowicz, who had distinguished himself in the war against Moscow at Polock and Wielki Luki, as well as at the siege of Pleszkow, which made a sally threw back and pursued the Russians, awarded in 1581, at the same time as the nobility and with settlement of the name of Pleszkowski.

The 1645 judgment of the Lithuanian court in the case of Giedminów z Bierszkowski mentions Bartłomiej and Szczepan, sons of Jan and Jan and Andrzej, sons of Stanisław, and all of Stanisław's grandsons. Stephen's son Jakob, in a will from 1676, left the Bułkaj estates to his sons: Józef, Jakob and Jerzy. Jerzy, Jakób's son, gave these estates to his son Franciszek, who inherited them in 1772. Besides Franciszek, he had other sons: Jan and Maciej, who left them sons: Feliks and Jan in 1799. Jan, son of Stanisław, mentioned in the judgment of 1645., had sons: Dawid, Stanisław and Hrehor. Dawid's son Jerzy and grandson Stanisław left sons: Maciej, Bartłomiej; Ignacy and Dominik in 1799. Stanisław, Dawid's brother, had sons: Józef and Jan, of whom Józef, with a will from 1755, bequeathed his property to three sons: Józef, Antoni and N. (not mentioned by name). Józef's sons: Adam and Jerzy, mentioned in the father's will from 1760, and Antoni's sons: Józef, Benedykt, Antoni and Jan, testify to the section of state property in 1794 and together with the cousins by Maciej and the aforementioned sons, they left the nobility in 1799 before the Vilnius district deputy. Jan Giedmin signed the Manifesto of the Lithuanian Nobility (VL) in 1763. Aleksander, son of Dominik (certificate of baptism in Płungiany from 1831), attached to the 1832 account (from ME Brensztein's Teka).
