The forest hill which laid at the top of the forest far from the small cabins resting at the very bottom was calm and peaceful, a gentle breeze blew softly through the untamed green grass making it sway and dance in the wind. The leaves in the trees below all rustled and swayed as the wind passed from the grass over to them, the animals living in the trees woke up all making noises as they darted to and fro from branch to branch or their nests to find food or visit their loved ones who weren’t living with them.
The ground below the trees was covered in bright green grass and beautiful flowers all glowing with enough health and pride to win a flower contest. Small bugs crawled along the petals of the flowers and the blades of the grass, mostly to eat the bits of plantlife for breakfast however their dine turned into a dine and dash as the bugs had to retreat from the beaks of birds as they swooped over the land to grab easy prey from the blue sky, some were successful.
On the soft green hill, a little bundle of white fur laid curled into a ball on the ground, its ears raised as they twitched from picking up noise from all around it. The creature stood up from it’s ball shape on the grass, revealing that it was a white fox who had just woken up from a long peaceful nap on the hill, it’s little ears and nose gave a couple little twitches as it’s head turned around in every direction as if it had heard something off in the distance of the grassy hill. The fox raised its head and looked over to the forest where life had woken up and was preparing for their day.
The little white fox watched the lively forest from its place on the hill, watching the wildlife activity: the birds flying up into the sky, the wind gently blew their feathers as they climbed higher and higher into the air, their wings spread out wide and beautiful as the light from the sun reflected off their feathers making them a dark shade in the sky as they swooped to and fro across it, looking for bugs to eat.
As for the bugs, they were flying around in the sky, getting grabbed by the beaks of the birds flying in the sky or were flying or crawling on trees to either gather food planted at the top branches or hide from the birds or were on the ground getting ready for a hard day of gathering food and working under the sun lying ahead of them in under a few minutes so they had to hurry as to not be late.
And finally, the squirrels ran up and down the thick trunks of the trees, some with nuts jammed into their cheek pouches, some didn’t but they still made their way up the trees regardless so that way they could find nuts. Some of the squirrels didn’t stick around in one place for too long, being little creatures full of life and energy, they scrambled across the trees, heading up the trunks and along the tree branches before jumping as hard and as far as they could to another tree, grabbing hold of the branches and pulling themselves up the smallest branches and disappeared into the shade of the trees either to find food or jump to another tree.
From above the forest, the white fox continued staring down, its blue eyes and head tilting curiously at the scene before it, it then sat down on the ground and cleaned its face using its front right paw. A light breeze swept through both the forest and the green hills, catching the leaves of the trees and the grass, causing them both to rustle and blow with the force of the light wind.
The white fox brought it’s right front paw away from it’s face then set it back on the ground, it’s ears giving three little twitches as it felt it’s white fur blow and ruffle from the wind, it tilted it’s head in all four directions: north, south, east and west, seeing the expanded forest on the west and east side of it and the rest of the hills leading to the forest and what looked to be a little village with red lanterns set up on the buildings which was way off in the distance.
The fox stared at both parts of its forested home for a few seconds before it slowly began walking down the hill and toward the forest, eager to play with the other woodland animals in the forest. As the white fox approached the forest, some of the squirrels stopped in their tracks and waved to the little fox as it passed by, it stopped as well and waved back to the busy animals before turning around and heading back to the forest ahead.
The shade from the trees above covered the forest’s floor and the white fox in a shower of darkness, causing it’s normally bright white fur to darken into a light grey colour but the fox didn’t mind this as the sun was starting to make it very hot despite it’s coat reflecting off most of the light from the sun and it needed to cool down before it overheated. So it sat down on the cool grass that coated the dirt ground underneath, a nice contrast to the warm ground of the grassy hill it had previously been sleeping on a few minutes ago.
The wind blew through the trees and grass once again, providing a pleasing cooling sensation to the fox’s warm fur which it was grateful for. As the white fox settled on the cold ground, a couple of beautiful pink and blue butterflies flew by it’s head and fluttered around the grassy forest before heading off in the direction of nearby flowers.
The white fox tilted his head at the sight of the two butterflies before it took interest in the pair and chased after them. The little fox now had a huge smile on its face as it chased the butterflies all around, jumping up and trying to nip at them as they flew about in the air, their little wings fluttering like mad. Of course, being little creatures with wings, they unsurprisingly managed to keep out of the fox’s playful maw and fluttered out of the way of danger.
