I would like to thank God Almighty for the grace of salvation upon our lives. I believe it is by grace to be alive and read this book. My main focus in this publication is to bring clarity on the subject of Salvation and ensuring a clear understanding of this significant matter.
Many people today call themselves born again Christians but they do not understand what salvation is, and even do not know many aspects concerning their salvation.
This book brings more detail concerning salvation as well as helping those who want to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior begin their Christian lives. It also aims at helping those who are saved understand their salvation and continue growing in Christ.
The rise of many ministers of the Gospel of Christ and so-called “prophetic movement” has led to a major shift from the main principle of the Gospel which is salvation. Many have diverted their concern from the importance of Salvation and focus on their personal interests.
Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit I spend some time compiling this book and I believe this will help you study and learn for yourself many things concerning salvation.
The best thing is to pray and ask God to reveal His will as you go through this book. There are many scripture references which will also help you study the word of God as you will be reading.
Mark 1 vs 4 “John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”
Salvation can be defined as:
The freeing of a person from sin and saving of his soul. The deliverance of a man’s spirit, soul and body from power and penalty of sin.Salvation is the greatest miracle to ever happen to mankind. God had already decided to wipe away mankind but GRACE made this miracle happen through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ
Salvation is the greatest demonstration of God’s love and grace towards us. We can call it God’s perfect plan to deliver us from sin and death
Salvation can not be seen but comes through faith in the finished works of Calvary. It is the liberation of a soul from death, torture and torment which will be experienced at the end of the world as written in Romans 2 vs. 9:“Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil,” KJV
Salvation comes as a free gift from God towards man, demonstrating God`s Unending, Agape Love. It is the redemption of mankind through the death of God`s only begotten son Jesus Christ.
John 3 vs. 16“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” KJV
We are saved by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives but it is a continuous process, this takes us to our next sub topic: Stages of Salvation.
Jesus Christ had to come on earth and die for the sins of the world, many people might want to know how salvation came about. The plan of Salvation can be traced back from the book of Genesis. Adam and Eve did what God had forbidden them and sin entered into the world. When sin had entered into the world, man now needed salvation. God then sought a way of liberating man from the trap of death and suffering which they brought themselves into through sin. We can read this in Genesis 3.
From Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses and other patriarchs, God has been revealing or reflecting His plan of delivering mankind. For instance, Genesis 6 verse 5 to 7, God saw the wickedness of man, but because of his love for human beings, He made a way. Genesis 6 verse 8 says “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.”
This clearly illustrates the nature of God as a gracious Father who always think of saving His creation from destruction. God saved Noah from death which symbolises that all those who do what is right in the presence of God will be saved from final destruction meant for the devil and his angels.
Genesis 37 also explains of Joseph being sold into slavery but God was with him all the way, the same man helped the Israelites when it was time of drought. Joseph also promised the Israelites Liberation from slavery in Genesis 50 vs 24.
This was a shadow of the things to come, meaning it reflected the coming of Jesus Christ who was rejected by his own but he later died for their inequities. Therefore, the plan of salvation is shown clearly from the book of Genesis. Other major and minor prophets also prophesied the coming of Jesus as the Messiah.
