Chapter 1
“Damn, that was cool how muhfuckas head exploded like that….dig that sword.” “It is quite…direct isn’t it?” Taryn Robespierre said as she watched the man before her kneel striking a match on the breastplate of a fallen Elf soldier. “Max and Pique workin together, who would have thought? Where is ol Monstermouth?” “Now now Pennince, you know this is a multi faceted operation.” Taryn said with a smile.
“I guess so.” He said lighting his cigarette his blue eyes flashing with malice. Taryn, Maxmillian, and Penince were surrounded on all sides by dead and dying Elves. The front line. They had arrived at Netheren. Behind them the armies of Shuga and their Under and Over World allies were assembled to topple the kingdom once and for all. “Before us stands one of the final hurdles to uniting the planes and making a land of our own. Do not underestimate the Elves of Netheren They have lived longer than any of us can conceive. Show no fear, give no quarter, and most importantly crush the enemies’ spirit!” Taryn shouted raising her swords.
Shouts and gunfire exploded from the ranks of their forces. Taryn turned to her twin smiling. “This isn’t even our true might, Pique and the others are finishing their…training. Kind of them to deal with Dimchev before they departed. Do you believe our current charge will be enough?” Maxmillian smiled placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. “The battle is a mere distraction, it will suffice for our purposes. Once we complete our objective the real war can begin.”
Taryn smiled. “Always ten steps ahead.” “Don’t give me too much credit.” Maxmillian said. “I can’t wait to see the look on the Royal Guard’s faces when you slaughter them with The Sunblade.” Taryn said her sky blue locks blowing in the breeze. They were headed for Spyre Tyranna, before them was the entire kingdom of Netheren. By day’s end it would be burned to the ground.
Michael Korvin glared into the grey morning with salty eyes. He had to get back to Ravenshire. His encounter with Maxmillian Robespierre had left him scarred mentally and physically. Hatred burned in his soul. Rage. He could barely hold still. Sharian had assured him he’d show him how to harness his armor’s potential, this was something that burned deep in his soul more than almost anything. The need to understand. To understand, it sounded so simple. Quickly it was becoming a hazard to his mental hygiene. It had been two months. He and Adel had been asked here for “something greatly important” Frankly, he was getting tired of others agendas and grudges. When would it be time for his? His family had a lot to atone for, from the sound of it though the Korvins weren’t all murderers. There was more to the story, and he had to get to Ravenshire.
This wasn’t- “Michael?” he turned looking over his shoulder seeing Adel the bandage still wrapped around her head. Her rose colored eyes penetrating his soul. “Sorry, I was just…thinking.” “Brooding is more like it.” she replied. “We’ve better things to do than go to bloody meetings.” “Agreed, that Robespierre woman, I owe her.” He’d never seen that look in her eyes before she meant that shit. “Sharian seems to think we can even the odds.” “Don’t you?” “I do. But this isn’t just about my father anymore.” “A war is starting. Ambition, ruthlessness, it never ends well.” “They must be offering something significant to assemble all these monsters.” Michael felt Adel’s hand close around his. He held it tightly squeezing, suddenly things were getting too scary.
Ozz’s hair blew lightly as he looked at the assembling groups below. From the Under and Over. These mothafuckas were serious about this shit. They’d spent the last few decades hating each other but now since everyone had gotten their teeth kicked in it was all hands on deck. It might actually be admirable, but fuck these people. They had allowed Vicissians to be persecuted and suffer. He couldn’t wait to tell them about themselves. According to Crone Moriana Aegis and Cortana had a plan. Didn’t they always?
He would keep silent and absorb what was said. If it was going to help him stop Pique then nothing was off the table. “Going to brood up here all day then?” Ozz sighed. “Not now Auntie M.” “Oye vey you and Annonymuz with the long hair, the earrings, and the attitude.” she said hands on her round hips. “Really?” “At least Antwan has a decent hair cut. You two look…” “What wild? That’s the idea.” Ozz growled. “Don’t you take that tone with me. It’s about time you come for the meeting!” She snapped seizing him by the ear and pulling him along.
Chapter 2
Rain Man watched as representatives from two of the Underworld kingdoms and two from Mezzo gathered before him and a few of his officers along with Night Iron Krow and Dougal the War Ape. He didn’t expect the Dwarves or Elves so this was about right. The most interesting fact was the involvement of Aegis and Cortana. All agreed to shed no blood and start no trouble.
They couldn’t be thinking of joining forces now, it was ridiculous. Robespierre was a minor inconvenience, not too long ago they were hunting Ozz. Now they were asking him to this summit. Desperate Measures. Rain Man smiled as his parents appeared with Ozz being dragged by an ear by a short round shadow of a woman with glowing angry white eyes. Annoymuz, Antwan and Deshawna were also with them.
Drummond from Aegis,Suny from Cortana, and Olin from the Order of Light. He could tear his head from his shoulders right now. He didn’t owe these geezers a squirt of piss. They were all against his rise. If not for their fuckery he never would have needed the Archbijou in the first place. Now, here they were. Rain Man lead his group out glaring at Drummond and Olin as they settled beside Yorinn. Drummond ignored his contemptuous gaze. Ozz joined them green Spectral Mana covering his face as he summoned his veil becoming Waarp.
He glowered at both councils sneering. “We’re just missin Fedpo and the fuckin Cannonade.” Rain Man said. “Roman.” Moriana said frowning. “It’s a reflex.” he said shrugging and smiling sheepishly. Annonymuz looked over the group of armored warriors next to them and the group of Harlequins next to them. Drummond’s ice colored eyes scanned the crowd gathered before them.
