Introduction:

This book came to fruition when the author enrolled in another master’s studies, an Executive Master's in Business Administration (EMBA) program at SRH Berlin School of Management. It made him realize the significance of effective leadership, “EMPOWERING LEADERS NAVIGATING CULTURE, COMMUNICATION, AND AI ETHICS IN NEGOTIATION”, especially considering his personal experiences from running start-up companies. He learned that being an “Empowering Leader” is paramount in achieving success when heading an organization. However, the journey has not been smooth, as he has faced challenges due to a lack of strength of character. He also fell short in prioritizing the company's goals and maintaining positive relationships with the team, partners, clients, and investors. He failed to fully embody the values of a leader who stands up for the company he founded.

Throughout the writing process, he encountered various obstacles. Firstly, his personal health issues required him to take extended sick leave for over two years. Additionally, he struggled with restlessness while waiting for one of his business deals to come through, which significantly disrupted his focus during the writing period. Furthermore, compiling all the materials and citations posed another challenge. However, he must emphasize that he takes full responsibility for the content and makes every effort to include proper references and an appendix.

He firmly believes that this book will serve as an inspiration for entrepreneurs and business leaders, encouraging them to learn and develop throughout their journeys as business leaders.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to SRH Berlin for imparting invaluable knowledge, particularly in the realm of AI Ethics. A special mention of credit goes to my esteemed professor, Prof. Dr. Franz Hessel, whose guidance has been instrumental.

FOREWORD

When Edward Dzerinyuy Bello wrote to me and requested that I write a foreword to his book entitled “EMPOWERING LEADERS NAVIGATING CULTURE, COMMUNICATION, AND AI ETHICS IN NEGOTIATION”, I happily leaped forward to accept, not because I felt so competent to do the task but because I was being given an opportunity to use whatever talent I have to contribute to the efforts of front-guard writers in the business world of today like Edward Dzerinyuy Bello. In this interesting and fact-finding piece of work, comprising eight chapters, the author presents a unique style which renders the work readable. He begins by clarifying meaning in order to set the pace for subsequent discussions. Following the principle of identity, the author explains concepts that he employs in the book.

From a careful reading of the book, leadership skills are presented as outstanding and critical for human development in the world of business. The author employs the hermeneutics of his own experiences to elaborate on key issues as regards leadership. Here, one discerns a pedagogy of failure, where mistakes are never considered as disasters but rather as opportunities to learn more intelligently. Good leadership therefore entails open-mindedness and respect for the perspectives of others. Open-mindedness therefore stands as an intellectual quality that demonstrates socio-emotional skills in organizational leadership.

Also, respect for others’ cultures paves the way to good communication skills in leadership. The author argues that this particular skill is invaluable in good leadership. Talking of the importance of communication, we argue that there is no proper communication without dialogue, which is indicative of respect for the other. This perspective of examining leadership portrays the social character of humans as Martin Buber (1923) emphasizes that encounter is at the basis of all relationships “Alles wirkliche Leben ist Begegnung”.
